Melanie Thipsomphou (She/Her) and Lydia Shin (They/She) met in their freshman year of SVA and their friendship flourished to the point where they became roommates to business partners for their own art printing business called: Cat Circus Co.!!!

Melanie (She/Her) is a Filipino Lao American Cartoonist and Illustrator from New Jersey with a BFA in Cartooning whose passion is to create whimsical worlds filled with magic and life lessons. Nature, plants, and animals play a big role in her work. In senior year, Melanie started risographing and made a successful riso zine In The Willows and within that short time enjoyed it enough to create Cat Circus Co. with her friend, Lydia.
Lydia Shin (They/She) is a multifaceted Korean American artist from the east coast who graduated with a BFA in Illustration from the School of Visual Arts. They spend most of their time either working on puppets and screenprinting, creating silly imaginative creatures, and giving all their love to their muse: a cat named Meep. And currently, they are spending their days working with their long time friend Melanie with the ever so exciting Cat Circus Co.!
