πdora sighed a G3 note. In times like this, it was impossible to ignore how much the family dynamic had shifted. Not even her infamous charm could help win her way in this case.
βYou know I would,β she said, beaming.Β βKitty, you look positivelyΒ thirsty.βΒ
That was how the two witches found themselves at a cafe, perched in the sunniest spot so that way the warmth would counteract cold, their familiars sat by their feet. Before they knew it, Winter would be replacing Autumn. After flipping through the menu, Adora settled for ordering a pitcher of Sangria.Β
Adora peeled off her designer pointed hat, smoothing out the pale blue fabric of it.
βI miss theΒ vermΓΊt rojo,β the bluenette said longingly.Β βUs spaniards know how to drink. The vermouth here tastes horrible!β she said dramatically, rolling her rβs.Β βI can tolerate the sangrias, but they arenβt authentic.β Adora sighed. She missed Spain everyday, but she was grateful for the traditional her abuelo had kept with sending her to Britain. This tradition was also what had inspired Catalinaβs parents putting her there as well. The De Garcias were usually sent to Beauxbatons. Adora did have relatives with De La Fuente surname studying at the school in France, but all of Fernandoβs offspring and grandchildren were sent to Hogwarts. When sheβd tried to break from tradition, salivating for the grandeur ofΒ Beauxbatons, it was his insistence that his favorite granddaughter follow in his footsteps that landed her in Scotland. That being said, Adora was more cultured, more mature than her friends back home due to the experience of going to Hogwarts, and there wasnβt a school like WADA where she was raised. She was a better version of the person she would be now, if sheβd stayed.
βI had aβ¦ como se dice.. ephinany, the other day,β Adora confided in Catalina.Β βThe De La Fuentes love to travel, and they may stay in one place for longer than the other. But Spain is always where they return to, after weeks, months, or years.β She adjusted her already swan like posture, nodding to herself.Β βI was confused before, but Iβm not anymore. No matter what happens, I will end up moving back one day.β
The pitcher of sangria was placed in front of them. Adora waved her wand, and it sprang to life, pouring its contents into their glasses.Β βDo you think youβll ever move back?β

βthey are always trying to pass stuff as authentic. when in reality most of itβs rubbish.β catalina has to agree with a shrug of her shoulders, it wasnβt anything uncommon-- not when it came to her. at least. βitβs a shame too, because itβd be nice to be able to be able to get authentic drinks and food here. that actually tasted the way it was meant to.β itβd be great for her in particular as it had been ages since she had anything authentic or had even been home. but it seemed unlikely. that would ever happen. the food, the drinks and the people; were always something she missed. adora was right they knew how to drink, and merlin himself knew she loved drinking.
βyeah?β comes her question. with that of slight tilt of her head, intrigued in where her cousin was going with it. that much is written across her features. βthatβs good, i know you miss it. itβs also good to have a plan too.β she could understand why adora would want that. as it had been where they grew up, and where their family is. even if she may not say it out-loud-- too stubborn to do that. and was one of those people where she knew that she wasnβt missed, so why should she admit that she missed them? she missed it too, their family and spain in general. especially when she hadnβt been home, she missed it most during the holidays.. where family was supposed to be together. but she couldnβt dwell on that--
thereβs a pause at the question as a look of confusion is on features, eyebrows furrowing-- simply because she didnβt know. she hadnβt ever thought of it before.Β βi donβt know..β the pink haired witch finally says after a moment.Β βmy parents arenβt speaking to me. they havenβt since..β theyβd called her a disappointment. but that had gone left unsaid, her head had turned momentarily to the side almost to prevent the frown from showing. at the memory in her mind. a few mere seconds later itβs replaced with that of a smile to cover up how it made her feel. βi donβt think theyβd want me to. that would be the only reason iβd go home.. to be closer to them. and so i could seem them more.β she didnβt want to count her owls before they are delivered. it was always the erumpent in the room-- the thing she didnβt like talking about. simply because it was dreadful to, and brought back things sheβd rather forget. βso right now i really donβt think so. i havenβt even been home in long time. not since my last visit where they said they didnβt want to talk to me.β and that had been forever ago, but she wanted to explain why she felt that way and thought that. "i feel like me being back, or ever moving back would remind me too much of everything-- how nobody wants to talk to me, other than you of course.β hence why she imagined she had never thought of it. until now. but she also had nobody to blame expect for herself-- sheβd gone against what had been expected and wanted of her. but she also didnβt regret doing that.Β the situation in particular didnβt make her happy-- but she was happy with everything else.
βst. mungos is here too.. and i donβt see myself wanting to leave there. plus my friends, so i think this is most likely where iβll stay. though with floo and apparition-- it wouldnβt take long but still.β even if she didnβt know what the future held.Β βso, again i just donβt know. iβve actually never really thought of that before. so youβve given me something to think about.β that was genuine, and she could appreciate the thought.Β βwhat made you think of that? though, i canβt blame you for planning or thinking ahead for that matter.β
