I am very glad for all the people and creatures in my life these days, I feel like only a few years back I would have never had the life I have now, even worse I would have been terrified of the person I am now. But now, even though I'm still growing and making plenty of mistakes, I'm surrounded by wonderful individuals who are understanding. And the even better thing is I keep meeting awesome people.

I hate how much I feel I'm learning about myself and polyamory now that it feels like too little too late. I held myself in multiple unhealthy relationships that were mainly unhealthy because I was. Trauma and insecurities made navigating the complexities of polyamory near impossible and although I was able to grow and adapt it wasn't fast enough to prevent all the hurt that happened. By the time I had any idea of the mechanics at play and how to better function in polyamory half my relationships had been damaged beyond repair. And so back to back breakups happened and only now am I getting a much clearer picture on healthy polyamory. Hindsight sucks, but it is educational.

Word of advice to anyone investigating polyamory: it is inherently insecure, make sure that you have self security, if you are moving from poly fidelity or monogamy then make sure you are not codependent on your partner(s) and make sure you are not relying on that exclusivity for security, do your research and read the books and listen to the podcasts BEFORE you open things up.

These things would have saved me a lot of heartache
