Self-critique
Overall, I’m happy with the final output, and the experiences of whole processes. BUT there are still some problems which can be improved next time…
The experiences of shooting in Green screen room
1. Setting tracking and target marker
Marker setting and all preparation are so important. A big problem for compositing is that when I shot the footages, I didn’t clearly define how large of the touch screen and where the buttons are. Therefore, when I composited these footages, I needed to change my interface design to fit the green screen footages.
Another silly thing I did is I attached a note on the wall to explain to the actor how the interface looks like. Unfortunately, when we start to record, I forgot to tear it down. Thus, when I composited, I spent 1 hour to mask that….
2. Colour correction
I was upset about the scary green screen footage. Even thought the quality of the footage was not marked, when compositing, it is painful to have terrible footages and I needed to watch it over and over again. And I also spent a lot of time to do colour correction and also fixed the broken footages.
Interface design
I didn’t have time to research interface design, therefore designs are not coherent and lack process logicality.
To conclude, next time will be better!!
