With good memories, also bad ones come back. I think Kai never got to be able to grief the fact he lost his parents. He just couldn’t. Not with nya. And not with the ninjas. By that time he already forgot, because remembering hurt more. Despite all that happened not being his fault, nor theirs, he never got to be comforted, never had the opportunity to be mad at the situation, or to let out the sadness he had. He is/was just a kid. Wanting his Baba and Father.
