Liv was zoning out, practically biting the hell out of her bottom lip and paying no attention to the caramel apple in hand. How could she, when her mind felt torn in two directions? Was trusting her dad, the man who raised her and the only family she had ever known her whole life, the right call or was she about to send her siblings whom she had barely had the opportunity to fully get to know into a trap? The internal dilemma was enough to send her head spinning, but before she could allow herself to get caught up in her own thoughts any longer, she moved to take a bite out of the apple she had bought in an attempt to distract herself. But, before she did, she found her ears pricking up. Turning to catch a glimpse of a man clearly eyeing her apple in hand. “Um… hey? Do you by any chance want mine? I’m not all too hungry anyway. Not even sure why I bought it to be honest.”

Cato blinked-- surprised both by the woman and by her offer. Even if it was a bad idea to accept food from strangers, Cato wasn’t going to pass up free food. Without a word he took the apple from the woman and took a big bite, managing to bite though the thick caramel and apple in one go. He chewed loudly, his brows furrowed as if he hadn’t decided if he actually enjoyed the apple or not. “Thanks,” he said through mouthful of apple and caramel. Finally he actually looked at the woman, noticing how she carried herself... almost ghostly, as if she weren’t here. “You get stood up or something?” Cato asked, caramel still between his teeth. “People are supposed to be having fun. Not me-- but other people.”
