There is a documentary called “Inside: undercover in North Korea” and basically this Nepalese eye doctor for permission to be accompanied by a film crew in North Korea because they tricked the government into thinking they were doing a documentary on the doctor, since he was performing 1000 cataract surgeries in 10(?) days.

Basically the film crew got some very scary footage of life within North Korea and it’s frightening. The people act like their leader is their God and literally pray to him, and have pictures of him all over their houses, and break into tears talking about how great he is.

The scariest thing is you can’t even tell they’re lying. You can’t tell that it’s all an act for survival. You know none of them believe what they’re saying, but they have to in order to survive. They legitimately seem like they WANT to serve him. It’s brainwashing and it’s scary.
