“Summer isn’t a terrible season, in the very least.” Sylvia had never paid much mind the seasons, not that she had any reason to beyond changing her wardrobe. “What do old people do to celebrate? Is it boring?”

“I wouldn’t know. I haven’t seen the film.” Sylvia’s taste in film could barely be described as taste. She watched the pretentious, bloody type of foreign film out of a sense of obligation, a sense that this was what was expected of her, than any genuine interest. “That’s a good idea, however.” She said it like she was surprised. “What is a reasonable weekly allowance for the situation? A thousand? Or is that not not enough?” Apparently, flippancy about wealth was what she wanted to teach him first.

Sylvia landed wrong. Nothing drastic happened. There were no breaks and no sprains but her ankle was sore. She sat there on the mat for a moment. “I’m fine.” It was said through gritted teeth, more angry at herself rather than in pain. She forced herself up. “That’s was such a simple move.” Taking a few steps, she suppressed a wince, “I cannot believe I failed at something so simple.”

Sylvia drummed her fingers on the lacquer tables, looking disinterested. “What is the point of all this? It seems all so...” She gestured. “So..” Poor came to her mind first. “Pointless and boring. Aren’t there better things to do?”

“i don’t like to judge people based on their appearances, sue me.” he shrugged, crossing his arms. “why does it matter whether people know you’re rich or not?”

“That’s simply silly.” Regardless of what clothes could say of wealth and despite that being the thing Sylvia actually cared about, clothes and looked revealed a lot more than simply status about someone. “There are some things poor people simply cannot understand. They are good for attention, I suppose.”

he allowed a sly smile to pull across his face. “I disagree.” he said curtly, leaning slightly toward her. “can you imagine having that much faith in something?” he couldn’t. not even his own actions- they were a mixed bag. trusting himself? can you imagine? “they have faith in god, maybe they’d have faith in me too.” again, can you imagine how badly that would go? but Sam had kept the act up with his mother, an actual mind reader, for half a decade. “maybe i’ll prove you wrong. maybe they’ll have a sibling i can set you up with. a joint cover life. quaint.” 

“Faith has never been useful to me.” Enough of her family were considered gods that faith had never come up in her life and Felicia hadn’t exactly extolled many Christian values during Sylvia’s childhood. “ It seems so frivolous that blind trust the faithful have.”  She was of the opinion that she was one of the few people worthy of blind faith. “I would never want a quaint little life like that.” As she spoke, she scrunched up her noses. “Besides, if I were to date a woman, I would want her to worship me instead of anything else. It is what I deserve.”

The purse was an expensive and ugly thing, bought to use when bragging rather than for the (lack of) style. It laid on the ground how, smoldering and with a hole in the middle of it. “You won’t need to.” As much as she hated the careless destruction of her things, she hated the assumption that she needed money other than her family’s to replace it. Lips pursed, she looked down at the ruined purse. Casting a look in the direction of the voice, she adopted a mask of disinterest. “There’s nothing there, purse included, that I could not replace tenfold so I must turn down your offer.”

“i’m not saying you’re wrong, but aren’t we supposed to be…good or somethin’ like that? like, i’m pretty sure fury isn’t gonna be happy if you just go around killing random people.” he shrugged, sitting back. “oh, you one of them rich girls?”

“Good is subjective. And I do not worry too much about Nick Fury. I am certain I could find a lawyer expensive enough to successfully argue I should have diplomatic immunity.” Sylvia shrugged. “Was the way I dress not evidence enough of that?”

Natasha watched the other; they must be joking. Surely they’re joking around no one would actually do something so silly as well as dangerous on school grounds, let alone out in the open. “Are you serious right now? What do you think you are doing?” 

Sylvia watched the scene unfold as well. She, of course, watched with amusement however. As she focused on the potential for chaos, she felt the telltale pull within her. She waited for the pin to drop, for the silly fun to shift into something a little more chaotic. Her smirk grew. She turned and said, “Oh I cannot speak for their reasoning. They probably do not have any. Many do not.”

“Of course. I must say that partying to the more option however. I trust your judgement enough to go with your ideas, well at least to give them a chance.” Sylvia hummed.
