Dreams

I woke up from a dream crying.

As I left the car, my heart was heavy and so were my legs. It refused to lift but deep down I know I had to walk towards the music, towards the void deck.

As I walked under the block, I saw you, on that platform, on the decorated stage seated next to someone, someone I don’t know.

I stopped and stared. All I could do was nothing. A lady patted me on my back. I turned around and all she said was,

"It wasn’t meant to be, darling."

I stood there crying. You stood up and ran towards me, reached for my hand and said,

"I’m so sorry."

Because that was all you could ever say to me.

And then you’re married to her.
