“Very funny.” Victor sighs. “You know why I work so much, Selina.” Victor has so much he needs to do, so much work and progress to be made, but he follows along with Selina anyway, trusting that what she’s doing is for a reason of some sort. “I’m not apprehensive, Selina - I just know time isn’t on our side. I don’t doubt you in the slightest.” The truth is, Victor doesn’t know why she bothers with him. He’s not the type of person who normally catches the eye of anyone like Selina, and he can’t help but wonder why she bothers with him. “I don’t think I am one for bowing. Are you going to share this plan of fun with me?”

“And I know that you can only work so much without losing your mind, and we should really try and preserve whatever you have left up there,” she said, reaching a hand up and knocking the side of his helmet playfully with two fingers. “Then trust that I have this timed as well! Listen, just let me take care of all the planning then just come out and steal a few jewels, no hassle, no stress!” She laughed, tilting her head back. “Maybe.”

He HATED these things, he hated the people they attracted. But up until recently, THIS had been his world. Oliver had been no more than a billionaire playboy, it was only recently that he returned, and now al this collected wealth DISGUSTED him. But it was a cover, Oliver would use it for good if he had to use it at all. Taking a sip of his drink, his lips quirked, as his eyes brightened with good humor. He may be prickly BUT he could still laugh at himself. “Something like that. But more importantly who might you be?” 

Selina was curious about the newly returned billionaire and his penchant for change—he was markedly different than most businessmen, no one could argue that, but Selina could tell that there was something hiding underneath his veneer of drunken charm. She wanted to find out what that was. “Natalia,” she said, reaching a hand out to shake. “Natalia Rakhmanova. My father had a great sum of money, but unfortunately, he’s dead now and has been for quite some time, so I suppose it’s my job now to attend these things.”

“As much as I enjoy large, expensive parties, this seems like a bit much, even for a Queen shindig,” she said, sauntering up to Oliver as if it was completely normal for her to talk to heads of companies and billionaires, as if she was a part of that whole world when she really wasn’t. She was good at faking it, though, and she would continue to fake it for as long as it kept her flush with cash and opportunities for jobs. She raised an eyebrow. “Trying to compensate for something, are we?”

BRUCE SQUINTS AS HE WATCHES HER move around him, stepping closer toward him. She was a criminal, someone that he should turning Arkham for everything she has done in this city. He pays attention more than anyone likely thinks that he does. He knows how many heists she has pulled, knowing that if she wanted to get away with this then she wouldn’t have waited around. Perhaps she actually wanted to meet him finally, and he’s going to try and keep her busy until the police show up so they can take her in. 

“You’ll be handcuffed and taken down to the GCPD. where they’ll deal with you.” Bruce says as he doesn’t take his gaze off of Selina, especially now that she was leaning in a little closer to him. “You’re a smart woman, you could be doing so much more than this.” He says, for a moment considering trying to restrain her now, get it done with before Gordon gets here. 

Bruce steps closer towards her. “Just because you can doesn’t mean you should. This isn’t meant to be fun, Catwoman.”

Selina raised a hand to touch the exposed part of his face, an easy grin on her features. She had a pretty much failsafe method of getting out of here—and considering that she was already starting to wrap him around her little finger, she had no worries about distracting him long enough that she could make off, with or without the loot. She didn’t need the money. This time, she was just trying to attract all the worst kinds of attention, if only because she liked being the center of attention, whether that be through fame or infamy. 

“As long as you’re the one putting me in those handcuffs, sweetheart, I’ll do anything,” she said softly, winking once at him. “I could be, thanks for noticing.” She dropped her hand. “But I think that this is the life I’ve chosen, and you’re hardly one to dictate my choices for me, are you?” she added, raising an eyebrow.”

She raised her hand again, this time walking her hand up his chest with her index and middle finger. “Everything should be just a little fun, Batman. I’m sorry no one ever taught you that.”

BRUCE KEEPS HIS GAZE ON HER as she places a hand to his chest. He wants to close the distance, but he’s not going to push his luck just yet. “What kind of stories are they telling?” He says with a smirk across his features. He tilts his head to the side. “We don’t have to do anything you know. We’re just talking.”

“Oh, all sorts of things, Bruce,” she said, her hand raising slightly to touch the collar of his shirt, smoothing it down slightly as she leaned in a little closer. “Sure we are,” she said, whispering into his mouth. “Just talking.” She just barely missed his lips as she brushed past him, walking towards the railing of the balcony.

Victor isn’t sure just why she bothers with him this way, but he simply shrugs his shoulders at her words. She’s not here for an argument, clearly, and especially not about something like this. “Selina - fun? Really? You know how much work I have to do..” Still, he reluctantly follows her. When Selina mentions fun, it’s usually around a job of some kind, and Victor could certainly use the resources. “I am not sure how I feel about you making fun of my facial expressions.” He responds, though he can’t help but let out a small chuckle at her ridiculous expressions. He glances back towards his home for a moment before following Selina down the street. “What’s this ‘fun’ you mentioned?”

Selina rolled her eyes. “All work and no play makes Victor a very dull boy,” she said loftily. “Besides, you should just trust me. I have not led you astray yet, but you’re still so apprehensive all the time. Don’t be, darling, I’m much smarter than you give me credit for. I’m much smarter than any man gives me credit for.” She gestured vaguely at him. “I’m like the royalty of these streets, all of you should be bowing down to me, anyway.”

BRUCE FLASHES A SMIRK at the question. “I don’t see why we should be formal, when we can get better acquainted don’t you think?” He says knowing how guilty he was for letting himself get enticed by a beautiful woman.

“I think that you might be getting ahead of yourself,” she said, lifting a hand to touch his chest and keep him at a slight distance, even as she stepped closer, keeping her in control of the situation. “I’ve heard stories about you, you know.” Her voice dropped to something low and sultry. “I’m not sure it’s such a good idea for us to be out here alone.”

Dinah looked down at the man in disgust, “Well— by all means.. do your worst.” She responded with a simple shrug of her shoulders as the man looked to her in desperation. As if she’d save him.

Selina shook her head, kicking the man once to roll him over so he was looking up at her. “Come around here again and I’ll kill you,” she said simply before she turned away from him, walking down the street.

Victor raises an eyebrow at her words, though he doesn’t deny them. He could, but there’s really no point to it. He knows that he tends to get carried away, caught up in tests and experiments and Nora.. Nora, his dearest, stuck in ice until he can find a way out for her. “Thank you, Selina.. that’s kind of you.” He answers simply, still surprised by her actions, but glad. He’s not quite used to.. friends people who care for him. Still, he takes the bags, a slight frown on his face. “You like me? That’s.. surprising.” He knows better than to bother asking why - it may not even be true, but for now he doesn’t want to bother thinking about that. “A lead? On what exactly? Selina - you know the work I do.” He considers it for a moment, though - spending the night alone in his home, or doing something that potentially could help him. “Alright, hold on.” He sighs, turning to step back into his home long enough to set the bags down before stepping outside, locking the door securely behind him. “Are you going to tell me what this lead is before we get there this time?”

Selina rolled her eyes. “Yes, surprise, I find you at least a little bit interesting,” she replied. She raised a hand and wiggled a finger at him. “A lead on some fun.” She clicked her tongue against the roof of her mouth, shaking her head. “Half the fun is the look on your face when you figure out what it is. It usually ends up being a mix of this—” she made one outlandish expression. “—And this,” she finished, making another outlandish expression. She relaxed her features, tossing her jacket over her shoulders and starting to walk down the street, expecting Victor to just follow.

WITH LIPS AS RED AS BLOOD, Harley gave a wicked grin, her blue eyes narrowing with mischief. Her heart beat loudly in her chest, echoing in her ears as she gripped onto the leather beneath her fingers, nails digging into the wheel. Her surroundings passed by her in a blur of flashing lights blinding against dark skies.

Harley’s multi-color tipped hair whipped in the wind that rushed into the vehicle, vivid and bright and nearly gleaming against the passing streetlights, tapping against the window furiously as her head snapped around. Her eyes searched their surroundings, watched with awe and excitement as blue and red lights flashed blearily into her vision. It heightened the rush of emotions ebbing through her veins, and all she could do was let out a feral laugh.

The car raced in tandem with the ones that followed, their flashing lights accompanied by loud whirring noises. Sirens blaring against the otherwise quiet streets. Harley let out an amused screech and gripped at the revolver against her thigh. Her fingers wrapped around the gun and she laughed.

Selina rolled her eyes. “Put the gun down, darling, you’re going to poke your own eye out at this rate,” she said, sticking her head out just barely through the window to get a better look at the cops chasing them, wondering if there would be any sign of the Batman coming along for the ride as well—after their run-in the other night, she was interested to see what he would do next.

How she came to be in that car was a long story and it wasn’t at the same time—she had been puling a job when it seemed that Harley had been running an errand for Joker at the same time, and Selina, taking a shine to the other woman, had decided that it would be a good idea to use her for a getaway. Obviously, that hadn’t been the case, and now Selina had to find a way to get them both out of the situation before they ended up in an even bigger mess than they already were. 

“I told you to pick the less ostentatious car,” she added coolly, looking down at the sports car that was inevitably going to be destroyed by this police chase. “We could have gotten out of there without a problem if you had just gone with the boring option.”

“Most of them are,” Diana agreed readily, because there wasn’t much falsity to it. She’d been around long enough to know that, in the minds of mankind- especially in mankind- there was nothing new under the sun, and talking to them could get grating, fast. “I was almost able to get out of it myself, and I think that, if I find a corner remote enough, I still might be able to.” 

Selina had no patience for men as of late. They were all arrogant and while she had an ego of her own, the way men seemed to be predatory in the ways they flaunted theirs just made her feel gross. She snorted softly. “I think that I’m supposed to stay out here until the dedication,” she replied. “But I’m considering sneaking out before I’m in too deep to leave.”

Dinah was all for beating up sleazy men, but when she watched the high heel nearly pierce his throat, she got nervous. When he scurried off, Dinah stepped forward in her black outfit and tilted her head, “That was a little close there… don’t you think?” She questioned the other.

Selina looked up and shrugged. “I have self-control,” she replied. “And I know what he’s done to some of these girls,” she added, arms folding over her chest. “Frankly, I should have done a lot worse.”

“i would like to see someone steal from me,” she spoke back, looking up to look at the woman in front of her, “unfortunately, there are too many people these day intend on stealing.”

“I like your attitude, but the people around here are pretty slick,” she replied with a laugh. “Well, sometimes, people have good reasons.” And sometimes, like her, they just did it for fun, though she wouldn’t admit that.

Victor isn’t expecting visitors. He never does. His home is set for his survival - sub-zero temperatures. It’s impossible for others to manage in there for much longer than few minutes, if they are not prepared - and people usually are not. Not that he has an abundance of people who would visit him anyway. So it takes him by surprise when he hears someone yell his name from outside - a familiar voice, though he can’t imagine exactly what they’re doing here. He can’t help but frown as he approaches the window, opening it carefully, careful not to lean out too far. “Selina?” He yells out to her, confused. “What - why would you bring me groceries? I don’t understand -” He sighs and shakes his head. “Hold on a moment, I will be out in a minute.” Closing the window, Victor steps back inside and heads over to his suit. It takes him a few minutes but he manages to suit up with relative ease before heading outside to see the woman. “Explain to me why you brought me.. groceries?”

Selina held out the bags. “Because you never take care of yourself and I want to make sure you’re eating. It’s all frozen, by the way, because everything would freeze in that igloo you live in anyway.” She shrugged. “Also, I like you, and I can’t say that about anyone else these days, so really, you should be feeling pretty honored right about now.” She shook the bags at him. “Come on, take them, then come with me. I have a lead on something that you might like.” She smiled crookedly. “It’ll be fun,” she added in a sing-song. Selina had a soft spot for the other people like her in the city—people who were just a little bit more crazy than the normal amount, people who had nightly proclivities that may not have been the most savory activities but were way more thrilling than anything else they could even imagine.

BRUCE GETS A GOOD LOOK at the woman. He puts the drink in his hand down, not paying any mind to where he was leaving it. His attention only able to focus on the beauty in front of him. “I’m sure they’re all too drunk to notice at this point.” He replies as he steps closer. “Please, call me Bruce. Mr. Wayne makes me feel old.”

Selina raised an eyebrow at him with a crooked smile on her features. “You don’t think it’s a little informal? We only just met,” she replied playfully. “Bruce.” Selina could tell that he, like most men, was at least somewhat enraptured by her—and that was exactly how she liked it.

“YOU AREN’T SUPPOSED TO BE HERE.” Bruce says firmly, his body turning around as he hears the other approaching. He crosses this arms over his chest, straightening out his posture as he looms over them.

“I’m fairly certain that a host isn’t supposed to ditch his own party, either,” Selina said, walking out onto the balcony in a floor-length black dress that trailed behind her slightly, a glass of champagne in hand. “So, I suppose we’re both breaking the rules tonight, Mr. Wayne.”

Momentarily, Mera’s sharp gaze swept about the dimly-lit room that smelled of thick cigar smoke and beer. Men were mostly boring bugged-eyes at her, probably trying to figure out what the hell she was; the dark-haired woman who could handle overly aggressive idiots at a local pub with ease. Impressive for a landdweller, and not much really took Mera off guard or genuinely intriguied her.

“A brilliant way to deal with barbaric assholes, honestly,” Mera mused, corners of her lips ticked into a barely noticeable grin. “He didn’t manage to hit you back, did he?”

Selina shrugged. “These guys aren’t nearly as bad as the ones I grew up with,” she replied. “It’s child’s play.” After she had trained with Ted, she had gotten to be much more skilled than the regular bar-brawler or street thug—and as a result, she had gotten incredibly bored of putting these men in their place, even if it had once been the most satisfying thing she did. Selina scoffed. “If he had, I would have killed him.”
