The evening seemed to go by at an unbearably slow rate, TAUNTING Clark. He slowly clenched his eyes shut, allowing the darkness to consume his sights as he took in the surroundings through his ears. The usual flooded his senses: wind rustled patches of leaves, a car horn ringing off numerous times against an angry driver, and a crowbar crashing against a car window. BINGO. Without a second thought he leaned forward and took off through the skies, his eyes locked on the criminal in an alley a few blocks ahead. His cape cracked in the wind, cutting the last corner as he landed swiftly a few feet from the man.
“This automobile wouldn’t be yours by any chance, now would it?” Superman spoke up, a playful smile on his lips as he crossed his arms over his chest, displaying his ‘S’ proudly. Clark was well aware the man dressed in all black and dawning a ski mask had no property within the area ( minus the crowbar of course ) — he just wanted to be polite before apprehending the culprit. And perhaps it was a little fun.
Diana had been -- patrolling was a word that she didn’t like to use, but it was probably the most accurate one. This was how she spent most of her nights RESTLESS and waiting for something, someone (anything, anyone) to come along to help.
She’d thought she’d finally found it, in this theft- small, in the grand scheme of things, but every little thing helped in keeping the peace. Of course, though, of course, someone else had to come along. “I didn’t know that this was going to be a team affair,” she said, a few steps behind where Superman had landed, and not unkind. (A little annoyed, but, not unkind.)
