Bringing Leftover cupcakes in...not such a good idea
More amazing than my own cooking. I can cook a few things, but I bet I’m not as talented as you. I’ll just have to wait and see how your cake is. You’ll definitely have much more fun with me with not having to worry about Anderson.
Maybe I'd like to see what you can cook? And yea I guess you wil have to wait.
Slumber Party ║ Kurt & Santana
Santana looked at the small package, a brow raising in question as she examined the the rainbow wrapping paper. It was obvious that they had put a lot of thought into this because Kurt couldn’t keep still and the anxiety was written all over his face. She ripped the paper off slowly, wondering just how much of a say Britts had in the packaging because of all the colors and the glitter. “Chill out, Kurt,” she managed to laugh, “I can’t tell you if I like it until I know what it is.” The Latina gripped the chain of the necklace, dangling it from her fingers as she held the pendant up so she could see it properly.
It was a unicorn! The Latina started laughing, a wide grin spreading over her features as she thought of the meaning behind such a simple piece of jewelry. It was true, the necklace wasn’t something she would normally pick out for herself but honestly, she couldn’t have thought of a better gift from her friends. “It’s perfect,” she glanced over at Kurt, “you really have no idea.” Santana unclasped the chain, raising it around her neck before fixing it back and letting the pendant drop to her chest. Compared to her tanned skin the unicorn was bright and hard to miss, but she couldn’t help but love it.
Santana got up, moving over to Kurt before sweeping him into a hug. It was an uncharacteristic action for the Latina, but she was freakin’ happy and she was allowed to be emotional sometimes. “Thank you,” she said - touching the pendant with her fingers as she moved to sit back down. “This completely makes up for how shitty my day has been.”
Kurt grinned brightly at the look on Santana's face. He watched as she put the necklace on before wrapping his arms around her in the unexpected hug. He sat down and fiddled with the wrapper as he looked down at his hands. "It was the least I could do San. Like I've been saying. You don't deserve any of this. Especially today. It's your birthday. No one deserves to be unhappy on their birthday, especially one of my friends." He shook his head as he glanced at the girl next to him.
He picked up a cupcake and peeled away the wrapper and started to nibble at it. He smiled at the pendant before letting out a soft sigh. "Do you want to watch a movie? I have a bunch of them up in my room." He smiled before he got up to toss the wrapping paper away. "I'm glad you like the necklace." He nibbled his lip debating on whether he should tell her that Britt had picked it out, then again he figured she knew. He moved to make popcorn but stopped. "Or we could play video games. Believe it or not, this fabulous gay, has a thing for kicking Finn's ass at some of his own games."
Kurt shrugged as he started making popcorn, not really caring that he was carb loading, knowing he was going to work it all off tomorrow at Cheerios anyways. He smiled a little more as he grabbed another carton of ice cream and set it on the kitchen table. "What's a sleep over with out ice cream?"
Slumber Party ║ Kurt & Santana
Santana still felt a little awkward around Kurt’s dad after the whole incident in Sylvester’s office. She didn’t blame him or hate him or anything like that, but he was there when she basically broke down. It was kind of weird to just casually walk into his house and try to pretend that the moment had never happened. The Latina managed a small wave before following Kurt into the kitchen. It was such a simple thing really, but the fact that Kurt had taken the time to make a cake for someone as notoriously hated as her meant the world to Santana. Even her parents had forgotten about her today, and here she was, being given this awesome gift by someone she used to bully just for the hell of it. Life was funny that way.
She grinned when Kurt started singing to her, a bright smile working its way onto her face for the first time that day. The cheerleader eyed the candles with a critical eye before closing her lashes. Santana didn’t need long to think of a wish. She just wanted the chance to redo the events of her ‘coming out’. She wanted to be the one to tell her parents on her own time. Obviously, it wasn’t going to happen but it was nice to think about. So, the Latina inhaled for a moment and then blew out her candles in one swift motion. “Ha,” she triumphantly grabbed one of her cupcakes and took a bite out of it.
“I repeat,” she swallowed, “you are a god among douchebags, Hummel.” Santana happily took another bite from her cupcake. Maybe her birthday didn’t suck too bad.
Kurt watched as San closed her eyes while he sang to her. He smiled at the look of peace on her face before he watched her blow out the candles. Keeping his mouth shut he let her praise him before he turned and grabbed a few plates, knowing his dad would want a slice of cakes. "I'm nothing special. I've always been this nice. It's always just been hidden under the layers of clothes." He grinned at her before cutting her a slice of cake setting it down on the table so he could cut a piece for his dad. He stepped out of the kitchen to take the cake to his dad, kissing him on top of the head before making his way back into the kitchen a small package in his hand. "I had a few of the girls in the Trouble Tones help me pick it out. Though I kinda had to have Cedes help me convince them to do it."
He set the package down next to the slice of cake before he sat down at the table nibbling his lower lip hoping Santana wore necklaces. He had never seen her wear them before, but he hoped she would at least wear this one once in a while. He shifted in his seat, crossing and uncrossing his legs. "I mean I understand if you don't like it ya know. You have your own tastes and what not." He shrugged as he looked at his hands a little nervously. He was rambling now out of nerves. It was the first time he had gotten someone a birthday gift. But then again Britt had, had the last say in what the gift was.
Kurt looked at the package that, again Britt had the last say in what color wrapping paper was used and insisted that it was rainbow colored. He sighed and shifted a little. "If you want, tomorrow after school we can go shopping for something else." He said as he watched Santana's face closely, not sure if he should be worried about her reaction or not.
Slumber Party ║ Kurt & Santana
Santana grabbed her things, throwing them quickly into an overnight bag as she hurried about her room. She couldn’t stand the silence anymore and her parents were still refusing to look at her. It was her freakin’ birthday! The least they could have done was bake her a cake or patted her on the shoulder. Something…anything to show that they cared. If she believed in something as stupid as birthday wishes, she might have asked that her parents accept her. She might have asked for them to at least sit down and talk to her about what was happening in her life. Really, was the so much to ask for? Instead, the Latina was gifted with silence. She just wanted to scream.
The cheerleader grabbed her toothbrush off the sink, jamming it into it’s own separate pocket in her back before rushing down the staircase and out the door. There was no need to tell her parents where she was going because as far as she knew; they didn’t care. Her manicured nails tapped against her steering wheel as she drove towards Kurt’s house. She’d decided to drive this time because it was darker and she didn’t trust the neighborhood enough to walk the distance alone. Some mindless pop song was playing on the radio and the brunette tried to hum alone to keep her mind from wandering too far into the events of the day.
She’d skipped all of her classes after first period. The incident in the gym had kept her occupied until the end of the day. Santana had made it back just in time for practice with the Trouble Tones and their first day with Kurt as a member. It was no surprise that his voice fit perfectly with theirs, and Shelby was already planning out a solo that she wanted him to work on. Needless to say, they were going to freakin’ slaughter at Sectionals.
The Latina hopped out of her car, slinging her overnight bag over her shoulder as she bounded up the beautifully decorated lawn that led to the Hummel-Hudson home. She knocked on the door, a smile already working it’s way onto her face as she heard noise from within. It was a blessed change from silence, and she welcomed it.
“Come on Kurt,” she groaned dramatically, “I want some of that freakin’ cake.”
Kurt moved around his house humming to make sure the place as tidy enough for his friend. He was glad that Finn had decided to go out with Rachel, though he didn't know how long the two would be gone for. He sighed at the thought and shook his head, not wanting to think about the disappointment on Rachel's face as he walked passed the choir room and towards the room the Trouble Tones were practicing in. His first day had been nothing short of amazing. He was welcomed with open arms and hugs from Mercedes and Brittany. He felt at home with the other Cheerios as well. And to know that Shelby was already working on a solo for him made him smile even more as he moved to pull the cupcakes from the fridge a long with the cake.
Kurt had spent most of the night before baking both for Santana. It had been a weird thing, baking for the Latina, but over the past week he and the other Cheerio had gotten closer and he was enjoying himself more and more. He was, if he thought about it, finding himself. He searched the kitchen for candles as he heard his dad in the living room watching Deadliest Catch. Rolling his eyes, Kurt reached for a lighter and set it next to the cake and cupcakes. He heard the knocking and made his way to the front door, waving at his dad to tell him that he got it.
As he reached for the handle Kurt looked at his dad. "By the way dad, I'm having a friend over to spend the night." He shrugged a little before opening the front door and reaching for Santana's hand. He gently pulled her in and grinned. "Bout time you got here." He closed the door behind her and pulled her towards the kitchen. "Cake almost started to go stale." He gently nudged her in a teasing manner before setting her in front of the cake, lighting the candles as he did.
He then stepped back and started to sing 'Happy Birthday' in a quiet voice, so he wouldn't disrupt his dad.
Distraction | Kurt & Santana
Santana closed her eyes, enjoying the sweet taste of the ice cream as it melted on her tongue. She wasn’t sure who had first nominated Ben and Jerry’s as the universal comfort food, but at the moment her bitchy Latina heart was thanking them. “If?” The cheerleader quirked a brow at him. “You know it’s going to be the Rachel and Blaine show. There’s no if about it, Kurt.” She shrugged, reminded yet again of one of the many reasons she’d left New Directions. The Trouble Tones gave her a place to be safe and they gave her a chance to shine in the spotlight. There she could feel like she actually belonged to something. “Schuester likes to talk about how he cares about all of us and wants us to have a chance, but it’s bullshit.” The Latina rolled her eyes, “If he doesn’t want us to sing a freakin’ Journey song as a group than he wants Manhands to sing a solo..or Hudson. Which I still don’t understand because he does sound like a dying cat compared to some of the other voices in the club.”
She titled her head back to give Kurt easier access to her hair. Santana chewed on her lower lip, contemplating his question. Normally, she would have just come up with some bitchy remark, but she liked to think that the boy brushing her hair was becoming one of her closer friends and as anyone knew - Santana was always nice to people she actually cared about. “You can be,” she admitted finally, “I mean…it’s not like it’s your fault, really. There’s just no…excitement when I see you and Anderson together, you know? It’s kind of like you’ve jumped past honeymoon and hit old married couple.”
Kurt let out an undignified sound that sounded more like a snort than anything else. He looked over at the shirts that were laying on his bed to dry as his hands started to move swiftly deciding to turn the braid into a french braid. He let out a soft sigh as he already knew that Santana was right with what she was saying. Mr. Schue had in the past been hesitant to give Kurt a solo. His dad had to go up to the damn school just to get him the right to fight for a solo. He closed his eyes as he thought about his chance at a solo. He had thrown that competition just so the anonymous phone calls would stop. He had been stupid for doing so. His eyes snapped open as Santana started talking about his and Blaine's relationship.
Thinking about it, Sebastian had basically hinted to what Santana was, kind enough to just out right tell him. He let out another sigh and nodded. "I mean I don't know what it is about him San. I had thought he was the one, well you know what I mean. Not the one I was going to end up with for the rest of my life, but that special someone. But I feel as if he's just dragging me down."
He shifted a little to reach for a hair tie as he finished her braid, taking a shaky breath. "I just want some excitement in my life. After I went to Scandles the other week. I really want to do more crazy things like that. It was a lot more fun than I expected." He shrugged as he gently patted the Latina's shoulder letting her know he was finished. He got up and moved around so he could start her manicure. "But I don't know how to approach him on the subject."
Well, aren't we having a regular little ol' club meeting on the internet.
I know, I’m a hot bitch, I get it. Flattery is totally appreciated though. God, Sugar and her wailing. I can’t stand it. Have you told New Directions yet?
You are and with the Unholy trinity back, this school is going to be bitched smacked into a reality check. Can we just push her to the back? And I haven't. I don't know how I'm going to either. Maybe just one day...not show up?
Distraction | Kurt & Santana
Santana smiled in appreciation as she easily caught the new bottle of nail polish with one hand. Having Kurt on her side would making ruining all of Hudson’s shirts an easier task. “You wouldn’t think so from his height, but that asshole is surprisingly good at hiding when he doesn’t want to be found.” Santana thought of the hour she’d spent after school trying to find that gangly football player. The Latina had been furious (was still furious) and in her mind a slap just wasn’t going to cut it. The Latina rolled her eyes, remember her frustration. She just had to remind herself that he couldn’t run away forever.
The head Cheerio looked over at Kurt, trying to ignore the waterworks threatening to escape her again. This time however they were from feeling appreciated by the boy beside her. Santana would blame it on how shitty her day was, but she almost felt that those were the nicest words anyone besides Britts had ever said to her. “Thanks Kurt,” she went back to focusing on the progress she was making on Finn’s shirt, “you deserve a lot more credit than people give you. You’re going to be one of the few that gets out of this shitty little town.” Santana was determined to be a member of the ‘few’ as well.
“Berry’s always unbearable,” the Latina replied - rolling her eyes. “It’s like she’s just programmed to be that freakin’ annoying all the time.” Santana thought about it as she positioned her headband into place. “You know,” she started to say, “I don’t see why you couldn’t join the Troubletones. I mean…she was paid to make Sugar the lead and she already broke that rule. Not to mention you do fit in the female range when it comes to voices.” The Latina closed her eyes, enjoying the feel and smell of the concoction Kurt started applying to her face. “Mercedes is fine,” she replied, “but that boyfriend of hers is getting on my freakin’ nerves. It’s cool that he’s supportive and all, but he’s turning her into Mariah Carey level diva.”
Kurt nodded at what Tana was saying about Cedes boyfriend. He had to agree with her, the boy was flaring that girls ego and sending his best friend on an ego trip. He let out a soft sigh and shook his head. "I think just maybe we may have to put her through a Diva-vention if it gets to out of hand. But for now we just have to tread lightly around her." He sat down after applying his own mask and started to serve both of them some of the ice cream the Latina had brought up.
He was a little interested in the fact that she had brought up him joining the Trouble Tones. He had thought about it, but never had it been a solid idea. Now that Tana had actually mentioned it and pointed out that he had a very feminine range, he was considering it greatly. "You know that offer does sound nice. If it's going to be the Blaine and Rachel show this year, I just don't think I could stand it. I don't know why I've put up with that girl for so long." He shrugged a little as he handed a bowl and spoon to Santana before he started to eat his own tiny serving. He hummed a little at the first bite. He hadn't had ice cream in a while so it was nice to eat the ice cream with one of his best friends. He blinked at the thought before looking at the girl sitting next to him. He smiled at the thought of Santana being one of his best friends. He had never been able to think that a few years ago, but over the years, especially this year, she had become close to him. He figured it was partially because of Cheerios.
Letting out a soft sigh, Kurt set his bowl down and picked up one of his many brushes and gently pulled Santana's hair down and started to brush it. "Tana, do you think I'm boring?" He asked as he continued to brush the girl's hair until he was satisfied. When he was happy with the way the girl's hair was, he started to braid it, his mind wondering to the way Blaine had skitted around the question a week ago.

That’s not alright. I’m thinking of joining the Cheerios again then I will show them they are not allowed to mess with you.
To have you back on Cheerios would be amazing. It would be the Unholy Trinity all over again. Plus Me. Cause I’m just fabulous like that
I think I will have to talk to Coach about that. She pretty much hates me right now. But I might wow her again.
I think she'll let you. Even if she hates you. She knows how wonderful you are at being a Cheerleader. Hell she hated me when I quit and she let me back on

swanky--santana:
“We could probably convince Sylvester to agree to allowing braids,” she shrugged. “All we’d have to do is tell her that it was more original than the ponytail and less cliche than those stupid freakin’ cheer curls.” Santana shuddered visibly at the thought of the hair pieces she’d had to thread through her hair all throughout middle school. She noted the change of music that had occurred during her absence, a sad smile playing on her lips. It seemed that Adele would be the soundtrack of her week. Santana had to admit that she loved the singer and her discography could be found in her ‘most played’ playlist.
“I honestly love you right now, Hummel.” Santana quickly grabbed the nail polish, leaving little time for Kurt to second guess his decision to let Santana vandalize his step-brother’s shirts. She unscrewed the cap, making sure an ample amount of polish made it onto the brush as she flipped Hudson’s shirt so its back faced her. “You’re damn right he deserves it,” she muttered angrily - painting ‘asshole’ in her neat curling script on the cloth. “He’s lucky that he got away with only a slap earlier.”
She moved on to her next shirt, listening idly to both the music playing and the sound of water from Kurt’s bathroom. This time she painted ‘douchebag’ into the stupid striped shirt that Finn seemed to wear all the time. “I’m glad you weren’t involved Kurt,” she said honestly, “no one deserves to go through this. I wouldn’t even wish it on an enemy.” The Latina looked up at Kurt through slightly watery eyes, resisting the urge to let loose yet another surge of waterworks in the same day. “This whole state is full of fucking idiots,” her eyes sparked with fire, “and they don’t understand how to handle people who are different from them so they try to push us down and take from us till there’s nothing left.”
Kurt nodded as he started to set out the proper mani-pedi equipment. He was glad that Santana was open to the ideal of braids. He was getting sick of seeing some of those girls in pony tails, so many of them would look good in braids or even french braids and yet Sue continued to make them wear pony tails. He shivered at the thought, glad that he was a guy and didn't have to wear such atrocious things on his head. He subconsiously rubbed his head as he imagined the pain some of those girls were probably in by the end of the day. He watched as the Latina defaced his step brother's shirts, chuckling a little at the words she wrote on them. He stood up and made his way over to her another bottle of nail polish in his hand, this color a sparkly purple. He knew Finn hated both colors so it made him giggle. He grabbed one of Finn's shirts and started writing 'shit head' on it in his own cursive scrawl. He knew his insults weren't the best at times, but it was effective for what they were doing.
"I'm amazed you haven't hunted Finn down and beat his ass." Kurt shrugged and moved on to another shirt and started painting another insult on his shirt. He glanced at Santana and sighed. "You're right no one deserves to go through this, especially you. You're an amazing person whether you want to admit it or not. And believe it or not, I like you Santana. You're a great friend. And you're rather loyal when you want to be." Kurt started humming to the next Adele song that came on.
When he was finished defacing the shirts he sat back and looked at them with a satisfied grin. "I think you going to the Trouble Tones was a great decision. Rachel has become unbearable. I'm sorry but I don't know how much longer I can take that girl." He shook his head as he moved to grab a head band for his own hair. As soon as it was on he handed one to Santana and watched as she put it on. He then grabbed the plastic stick and started to apply the chocolate mask to her face. "You guys are really great. How's Cedes by the way?"

swanky--santana:
“Please tell me he’s not the type to eat it straight from the tub?” Santana grimaced at the thought, wrinkling her nose in distaste. “Because, if so, I only want some if it’s from an unopened carton.” She shook her head, following Kurt up the staircase. “Really,” she managed a small laugh, “I applaud you for being able to live with him.” The Latina followed Kurt into the kitchen, breathing in the scent of his concoction of chocolate and various ingredients once more. “You want to braid my hair?” Santana laughed, “If you want to braid than go for it, Hummel. It’ll be a nice trade from all the ponytails. I don’t have the freakin’ patience to do it myself.” She waltzed over to his fridge, pulling open the partition for the freezer before grabbing an unopened carton of ice cream. Using her own house as an example, Santana guessed which cabinet held the bowls and grabbed two along with a couple of spoons from the drawer.
She nodded, following Kurt up the staircase. Her eyes lit up a bit when he practically gave her his permission to mess around with Hudson’s things. “You said you had a bunch of nail polish right?” Santana followed him into his room, setting down the stuff she’d grabbed from the kitchen earlier. She held up her finger to indicate that she’d be back in a second before dancing over to Finn’s room. It was messy and an example of every stereotype she’d ever associated with the tall douchebag. Santana didn’t take the time to get to know his room - she’d probably come back and mess it up later anyway. Instead she waltzed over to his closet and grabbed all over his shirts before returning to Kurt’s room.
“Got a glittery pink?” She smiled, sitting down on the spot Kurt had indicated before thinking over his question. How was she holding up? Santana had basically had to tell her parents she was a lesbian once the ads had popped up everywhere, she’d already decided to breakup with the ditzy blonde she loved just to save her and she was already getting death threats from people that at one time had been scared of her. “I’m still here,” she answered with a shrug, “I’m miserable, but I’m still here. It’s not everyday that you’re outed to an entire state at once, you know?”
Kurt sighed as he wanted to tell Santana that, no Finn didn't eat it straight from the tub, but it would've been a lie. He shook his head as he turned in his seat and started to riffle through his beauty products only looking up when he heard Santana set the things in her hands down. "You know I'd love to braid your hair. You'd look wonderful with a braid. If it wasn't uniform to wear a pony tail all the time. I'd ask to braid it once in awhile before school." He smiled brightly at her and nodded when he saw her hold up a finger to let him know she'd be right back. His eyes followed her out of the room before he got up and moved to turn on some music. Ever since the Trouble Tones had performed a mash up of Rumor and Someone Like you, Kurt had been on an Adele kick so he went to the Adele playlist and started one of his favorite songs, 'Set Fire to The Rain'
Kurt move around his room, making it presentable, not even realizing that it was a mess until now. He was just finishing up when he saw Santana come in with Finn's shirts. He raised an eyebrow and smirked as he heard her request. "Course I have glittery pink nail polish. No nail polish set is complete with out it." He pulled the bottle of pink nail polish out and handed it to his friend. He eyed her for several minutes before shrugging. "Have at it. Honestly whatever you do to his things, he deserves it."
Kurt moved to his ensuite bathroom and started to wash his face, removing that days make up away. "You know, I don't know why people are making a big fuss about this whole thing. I'm gay and I'm a Cheerio. So why don't they attack me? Sue Sylvester supports not only Lesbians but Gays too. People just are so simple minded in this town." He huffed and looked at Santana through the door way. "You know I'm always here if you need to talk to anyone or even vent. I'm here."
Distraction | Kurt & Santana
swanky--santana:
Santana’s smile didn’t quite reach her eyes, but the real sentiment was in the fact that she was trying. “Good,” she nodded, “that means we can just lock ourselves in your room and I can avoid anyone else that might inhabit your house.” To the Latina it sounded like a solid plan. It meant that she could probably keep from killing anyone while she was there and disrespecting Kurt’s hospitality. The girl stepped past him and over the threshold. She took a moment to glance around, noting without comment that a lot of the decorations in the house practically screamed that they’d been picked out by the one and only Kurt Hummel. The rest of the place was littered with family photos and small reminders that two decidedly masculine figures lived there as well.
With that thought she frowned again, a spark of fury igniting in her eyes before it was easily quelled once more. Santana thought idly of wreaking havoc on some of Hudson’s personal items while he was away and incapable of stopping her. She wouldn’t be able to set his room on fire like she wanted, but she could at least do some damage if she really wanted. Normally the Latina was above small acts of vandalism, but she was certain that she could make an exception just this once. Hell, on a normal day she might have enjoyed drawing some mustaches on the pictures of him and Berry. Santana waved the thought from her mind, dismissing any thoughts of plotting or revenge for the moment in favor of enjoying her time with Kurt.
She inhaled, smelling the sweet scent of chocolate in the air. She had to hand it to the boy at her side. He was a master in the kitchen; whether it came to actual food or homemade beauty products. “Smells fantastic,” she commented, “I totally understand why Britts keeps devouring mine.” Santana turned around so she could face Kurt once more, a slight smile resting on her lips. Yeah, this was definitely what the Latina needed to distract herself. “Please tell me ice cream is involved in this mini spa day?” She quirked a brow at him, waiting for an answer. “I mean, that’s what we do during girl talks, right? We cry and spill our troubles of a pint of Ben and Jerry’s?”
Kurt grinned as he closed the front door and locked it. He then nodded at the question at hand. "You read my mind Lopez. Read it and liked it, because I just stocked up on ice cream the other day. Course Frankenteen ate half of it within a day, so I don't have much to choose from anymore." Kurt frowned a little at the thought of some of his favorite ice cream being eaten by his so called brother. He shook his head and lead Santana into the kitchen where the mask mix was waiting. "I also figured a mani-pedi was in order for you. I have several different colors picked out for you upstairs in my room. And if you'll let me I can braid your hair. Only if you want."
He grabbed the mask stuff before tilting his head towards the stairs to let Santana know that they were going to go upstairs. He lead her up the stairs past Finn's room. He glanced at the room and looked back at Santana. He smirked a little before kicking the door wide open, not caring if at any point she went in there and did a little 'redecorating' of her own. "So how are you holding up San?" He closed his door and sat the bowl down on his vanity before sitting down patting the seat next to him.
