“To be honest I haven’t really read it” she confessed while chewing on her bottom lip a little, as her being unprepared was not like her at all and the uncomfortable feeling that followed was not something she was used to, to say the least. “Wherever is fine with me” she shrugs without looking over, hoping Beck will notice and save her from the position she is in, which made her feel like she was being pushed closer and closer to the edge of a cliff for some strange reason she, herself, couldn’t explain. 

“Hey, no problem.” He assured her with a soft smile. “We’ll just take it from the top, and you can borrow my script since I’m guessing you didn’t bring your own given this wasn’t planned.”

“What?” suddenly confused, she glared at him. After offering to talk things through this was his response, she thought, feeling herself getting fired up again. Until it hit her, “Oh” she said, remembering that they were helping Cat out with the play she wrote (..Which Jade only agreed to do if the lead role (Tori Vega) died a tragic and painful death). “Uhm, alright” she agreed, still a little mad he chose rehearsing lines over them figuring things out, but the first rehearsal for the play was in two days and she had barely even skimmed through it. 

Okay, so maybe this was just an excuse to keep her there without having to talk about his feelings. Beck wasn’t exactly the best when it came to talking about that kind of stuff, and he had always preferred to show it through his actions. And maybe, just maybe it was an excuse to get to kiss her without having to explain why, since he knew Cat hat written it in there somewhere. He was almost sure it was her way to tell them to stop fighting and just make up, since she was probably the only one worse than him with confrontations, and even if she wasn’t a part of his arguments with Jade, he imagined that watching her friends fight wasn’t exactly her favorite way to spend the day. “You just want to take it from the top, or from the death scene?” He asked her, as he picked up the script.

“So talk to me” she stood up, watching Beck’s every move. He did seem a bit off and even though it technically wasn’t her place anymore, she felt herself being worried for him. 

“Well..” He ran a hand through his hair, not really sure what to say. “Do you like want to rehearse lines or something together? I didn’t read the whole script yet.. But it looks like we have a lot of scenes together..”

“Fine! 18 days.. If that makes you feel any better”.

“You know what.. Just forget it..” He ran a hand over his face. Sure, he loved her, but her always assuming the worst no matter how he put things, could get kind of tiring.

Beck sighed lightly, and ran a hand through his hair and then looked over at her. “Jade, come on.. You know that’s not what I said at all..” He paused for a minute, as he looked at the clock before correcting her. “And actually.. Technically.. It’s 18 days..”

Beck shrugged lightly. “Well.. As far as I know, I’m the only boyfriend you’ve ever had.. And then there was the whole thing with you fighting with Cat and Tori over Moose..”

“Pfft.. No..” He scoffed softly, and crossed his arms. Though he kind of was, but there was no way he’d admit that even to himself. “We’re not together anymore.. You can date whoever you want.. I just didn’t think he was your type, is all..”

Why did you even agree to go out with him to begin with? I mean.. Knowing you.. He doesn’t seem like the kind of guy you’d go out with..”

“Jade forgot her jacket, so I -” she cut him off, grabbing the jacket out if his hands. “BYE” she said before slamming the door in his face. “HEY you owe me 40 bucks!” her date shouted while knocking on the door. “And you owe me two hours of my life back” 

When she smacked the door in the face of the guy, Beck looked over at Jade with a slightly raised eyebrow. “So.. Are you going to explain to me what’s going on.. Or am I just going to have to figure that out for myself?”

“Is Jade around?” She heard a male voice ask and immediately stood up from her seat. Hoping she never would have to deal with her obnoxious date again, she let out a loud annoyed sigh, not concealing her disappointment of his appearance. Stomping over so that she was standing next to Beck in the doorway, she hissed “WHAT”, raising an eyebrow, clearly bothered. 

Only getting even more confused, Beck looked between the two. “Uh.. Yeah..” He just mumbled when Jade made her precense known. “I’m sorry, who are you? And what are you doing here?”
