Born to a set of young parents, who quite frankly, didn’t necessarily want him.
His household was on the less-fortunate side, causing a high amount of tension to build up around his parents given their new situation.
Their tendency to fight never really stopped, and just progressing got worse as Brandon grew older.
At the ripe age of 10, Brandon’s mother finally had enough and ended up fleeing in the middle of the night without saying anything. Brandon watched her leave, staring out of his small bedroom window.
Unfortunately, but not all that surprising, his father’s habits became more extreme and leaned closer to the alcoholic side.
Brandon would return home from school, and one of the two options would be expected – 1) He would get used as a punching bag, and constantly blamed for things he couldn’t control, or 2) Brandon would have to fend for himself because his old man would be zonked out on the couch.
By the time Brandon was in high school, he pretty much had enough of all of this shit, and would try to spend the least amount of time at home as he possibly could. Couch surfing became his speciality, and it was all made possible by his close friends (and their families). Some nights where he felt like he was overstaying, Brandon would either return to his childhood home, or spend a night sleeping in his busted up car.
The moment he was old enough, Brandon had been working countless shifts at whatever job he could get, just to try and save up enough money to rent his own apartment.
After graduation, and officially moving into his own place, there wasn’t much else happening for Brandon. He was just focusing on paying his rent. Attending post-secondary, or finding a career wasn’t really on the forefront of his mind. Other than the basics, he lacked motivation for anything greater.
At the age of 23, he ended up stumbling upon a traditional Barbershop that was run by some old Italian guys. He began to take an interest in the craft, and the owner eventually took him under his wing. With his help, Brandon was able to learn the basics of the craft before attending an apprenticeship program to obtain his licence.
[ PRESENT ]
Just a few years ago, Brandon had heard of his father’s passing– which came with a lot of legal crap that he had to take care of. He cleaned up his childhood home, and put it on the market; using the money from it to lockdown a house of his own.
After settling in to this new chapter of his life, Brandon decided that his next step was to eventually own his own barbershop. It took him a few years, and there were a couple set backs that he had to recover from. But by the age of 29, Brandon was proud to announce the opening of the Slick Hare Barbershop.

He has a bulldog named Barkley-- and yes, it’s like Gnarls Barkley. This little guy practically follows Brandon everywhere he goes; pretty much considered to be the barbershop dog.

All thanks to being a huge band-nerd in high school, Brandon can confidently say that he would consider himself – first and foremost – a drummer. Though, he is pretty proficient with playing the guitar as well.
That being said, he was actually a guitarist / vocalist in a hardcore band that he was apart of, alongside @bowieshore. It wasn’t anything serious; just for shits and gigs.
Brandon is highly particular with how he keeps his shop. It’s incredibly neat, everything has a spot, and he thoroughly cleans the entire place every night before closing. There’s two chairs in the place, but it’s more than likely that he wouldn’t hire anyone else. It’s almost there just for aesthetics.
He has an incredibly hard time really opening up to people. The only person who knows every single fact about Brandon’s life is @orla-rhodes ( who he considers to be a sister ).
There are some aspects of his personality that are almost intercepting. He’s been a lone wolf for a decent percent of his life, so coming off as independent or stand off-ish isn’t too far fetched. But then again, there is this friendliness about him– definitely gained from his career. It places Brandon in this odd Omnivert status.
You won’t really find him admitting it all too much – if at all – but Brandon really hopes to just settle down with someone. He wants a wife, and a dog. That’s it. Just something to craft a happy household with. Start fresh; do something his parents clearly couldn’t manage. However, his #childhood trauma has pretty much been in full effect, so relationships never really pan out the way he would hope they would; some form of self-sabotage is always present ( typically distancing and shutting off emotions ).
