My baby went to the Groomers today! He was sent home with the cutest bow in his hair! The little Candy heart on the bow says “Love ya!”  He’s so cute ♥

Did you know guinea pigs have very fragile spines and should not be placed in large exercise balls or wheels? A pet store may advertise this product and a store employee may even recommend you buy one! Guinea pig spines are not flexible enough and they could be severely injured if forced to use an exercise ball or wheel.

Not only does it strain a guinea pig’s spine, but there is very poor ventilation. The respiratory system of a guinea pig is delicate and requires adequate air flow in order to avoid breathing problems or upper respiratory infections.

Today is Dobby Winnick’s 3rd birthday! Congratulations Dobby! Whoohoo!

Dobby Winnick’s birthday is Valentine’s Day (Feb. 14th). He is turning three this year! Congratulations Dobby!

You may notice that Dobby has a very prominent morillo (that is the scent gland on his nose). This is typical of male capybaras. Caplin & Garibaldi both lost their obvious morillos when they were neutered. Dobby didn’t get neutered until last summer so we’re not sure yet whether his morillo may fade away.
