I want to get who’s responsible…
I can’t… So many feelings and emotions… I’m sending as many good vibes and love as possible to anyone effected by this sickness. My deepest and most sincere condolences to the families and friends of the people who were lost. I honestly just can’t… I’m fucking crying…
jesus fucking christ.. this is horrifying
When you hear reports on the news about Afghanistan, where they say things like, “one dead and seven injured…” This is what injured means. It means never walking again. Missing arms. Mangled faces with eyes that cloud over and become blind. Please, as you pray for the victims in Boston, also pray for those overseas. They need it too.
Many people seem to be afraid of firearms these days. Personally, I’m far more afraid of explosives.
When a firearm is discharged, a singular, or small pattern of projectiles are fired in a relatively straight line. A rifle round can kill or severely wound you, but only you, or perhaps someone directly behind you. But an explosive is like a thousand firearms going off at once. A thousand firearms loaded with rock, metal shards, dust, bone, and nails. While a bullet may be a few millimeters in diameter, and may rupture organs or break bones, an explosion will shatter your ribcage, burn you, or it’s shrapnel will gut you, take your leg clean (or uncleanly) off, or blind you. A deliberately caused explosion will do you far more harm than a singular bullet ever will. But despite those horrors, that is not what scares me the most.
You cannot run away, hide, or fight a bomb like you could a gunman. If a shooter starts firing their weapon into a crowded cafeteria, you can hide, or escape, if if possible, fight back. But if a bomb explodes in the very same environment, you will not have time to take cover, or run. Everyone in that room will suffer some kind of injury, if not their deaths. You see, an explosion typically creates it’s own shrapnel; bones, construction materials, and even school supplies can become projectiles that injure or kill those far outside the initial blast.
If you are prepared enough, you can fight off or escape from a mass shooter. No amount of preparation will let you do the same with a bomb.
And that is why explosives scare me so much.
This is one of the most heartbreaking things I have ever seen
I think one of the most difficult things is the balance of the desires of your heart and God's timing. Of course we want to meet "the one" but by looking for them instead of looking to God (I know the typical saying) but I'm learning that it is true, concentrating on the wrong this makes you miss the right ones. This is my prayer, that I can be one track minded on what God wants me to be and not the random desires I have.
