“What’s in it for me, Peter Pan?” Because he could very easily help Cassius with all of his problems. Chances are: he’s already done the work that the boy needs to do; though, he wouldn’t need to refer to his past work to help Hargreaves complete it. It wasn’t a secret Tristan had a knack for these kind of things. Homework, school work, anything that required brain power and a bit of wit. He was a jack of all trades that way. And master of all of them too if should say so himself.
“An all-in trip to Neverland?” Cas smirked back. A conversation with Tristan rarely began with anything other than name-calling. Nothing ever overtly offensive; it was always understated. “Honestly, man. Anything you want...” he paused, lowering his brow to a cautious frown, “...within reason.”

“Sorry bud, I don’t think I’m the one you want helping. I’m more behind than that and I never even left. I can refer you to my tutor though. She’s pretty great, but I think she only help when you don’t understand the material and not just when you’re behind. That or I can give you the number to a guy I know that will do this all for you for about 80 bucks.”

Thud. The pile of books and papers dropped from Cas’ hand to the desk in front of him. “A week - one fuckin’ week and I’ve missed all this?” He’d been out of town for a relative’s funeral, an aunt who was close enough to warrant the out of state trip for the service. Cas was sad, but okay - or at least he was until he saw this. “You have to help me get through all this, I’m begging you.”

It was still strange staying with the Hargreaves. They’d been so welcoming since she first arrived in Northlake; but they still felt like strangers in a way. After all, she’d only known them for a little over a month. But her parents had done extensive background checks before approving her staying with them. So they had to be good people. As the door to her room creaked open, Alba barked; and Rory glanced up, forcing a small smile as she saw Cas in the doorway. “Nae. Another parcel arrived from home; so I’ve just been unpacking.” She’d been able to bring most of what she needed when she initially arrived; but there were still some things needing to be sent over.
“So I see,” Cas nodded, alluding to the giant box on the floor. “Must’ve cost a fortune to mail that thing,” he joked, his eyes peaking into the box, scanning over whatever it was they’d shipped from Scotland. He saw a framed photograph, face-down and covered with bubble wrap. Would Rory mind if he looked? He’d soon find out. Cas lifted the picture, uncovering the glassed side, the image immediately bringing a small smile to his face. “Is that your mom?”
“Please tell me you’ll come to dinner. My older sister is in town with her fiance, and as much fun as third-wheeling sounds, I’d much rather have someone who is actually interesting to talk to.”
“Alright, alright - I’m in. But only if there’s wine. What’s your sister’s name again?”

“I’d say you’d be covered, yeah. Failing that, I guess you can hope he goes for your calc teacher - problem solved.”

His knuckles tapped against the door of the spare room - Rory’s room. It was strange to see it closed all the time ever since she arrived.If Cas could imagine her doing anything other than reading, he’d have waited for her reply before pushing open the door. “Hey you,” he spoke, keeping his smile small. Despite being in his own home, he and Rory still hadn’t quite broken down the friend door. “Not disturbing you, am I?”

It gave him a sense of self-importance, like he was a stepping stone on the new boy’s journey to settling in. “Walk with me,” Cas said, nodding his head towards the drinks table. “So when did you move here?”
