hi.

if you've messaged me or are checking this blog to see if we'd potentially click, i always welcome the possibility of new writing partners, but i also decided to take a step back from tumblr because it was doing my brain more harm than good. i check my friend's blogs from time to time, but i avoid logging in.

regarding plotting: i presently write on discord or google docs. i followed a couple new people before i put this blog on a tentative hiatus - please know i'm interested in writing with you, just not on tumblr. if doing 1x1s on discord is something that speaks to you, feel free to add me!

regarding previously sent asks/memes/prompts: i sent a lot of people asks before my hiatus and ofc i'd still love to read whatever my writing partners answer! i ask that you just give me a nudge when you post it so i can go check your blog.

regarding askbox memes and sentence starters: they're part of the reason why i can't fully leave tumblr and i privately answer several asks weekly. i also try to do weekly mini writing marathons where i write one-shots for 5+ sentence starters of my partner's choosing. if you want to send me things, please check my memes/prompts/wishlist blog (here). i strongly encourage indulgence. if we write together, send as many things as you want.

returning from the dead to say i know this will sound straight up stupid for many but i my anxious autistic brain that loves clear and straight-forward data couldn't help itself.

i made a google forms here where you can share your feedback about me as a roleplayer. i've only done this once years ago. it was extremely helpful, and i feel the need to do it again.

it's completely anonymous. you can answer if we’re current or past writing partners, or even if we’ve never written or plotted together. i’m really just looking for honest feedback. at the end of the day i know i can't change to i am, like i'll never be someone who chit-chats much, but i'm trying to understand where i keep falling short and where i can improve.

i understand you might be trying to commiserate but i need to make it extremely clear that i’m never going to look down on anyone who - in a respectful manner - is trying to write what they enjoy. don't try to make me feel better by putting others down, especially when there's nothing inherently wrong with wanting to write ships/nsfw. this is a hobby.

the advice i was given was actually related to the fact that i have more platonic plots than i have ships. they told me i needed to stop replying 'quickly and stop being the first one to suggest stuff'' when it came to ships and to let the other person 'think it's their idea.' and that if i ''suggest a ship first, you lose''.

which is insane to me, and also an interesting choice of words.

anyway the rise of nonchalance is the death of passion, or whatever the quote is. i will choose to trust that those i write with and who approach me mean well, that they will speak their mind, and that they don't see me/my characters as 'less' than theirs. i will keep being the opposite of nonchalant and a huge yapper who write drabbles every week and builds elaborate pinterest boards and says whatever’s rattling around in her brain with as little fear as possible because i refuse to play childish games in my creative hobby and showing up as you are is how you find your people.

i think a lot about the beautification of some characters in ways that feel dismissive, such as when writers goes out of their way to imply things like "this character has a huge traumatic scar… but don’t worry, it's sexy they're still hot.” as if scars, deformities, or injuries only matter if they’re reframed as aesthetically pleasing. people with scars or differences don’t need that kind of justification to be attractive, they can be appealing as they are, without it being spun into some kind of “sexy damage”. also imagine having such little faith in a character that thinking them having realistic physical deformities/scars would make them less compelling.
