Gracious K Ft Jaynee - Fully to blame
If there is anyone out there, who like me, is currenlty struggling to learn to shuffle, this song is perfect for some practise. A great house song that gets your head bopping and feet moving. Also you might remember Gracious K as that guy who brought us the legendary club banger 'Migraine Skank'.
Shout out to Charlie Sloth for bringing this banger to us!

MNEK - Wrote a song about you

One of those songs you can not get out of your head after one listen! British singer and songwriter MNEK brings us another banger (check out 'Every Little Word You Say'; another great song of his). I see big things for this guy.

Phantogram - Black Out Days
Ladies and gents the electro duo are back with a banger of a song!
Canines - Dead End
If you had the chance to catch the film 'I'm Not A Hipster' at the Sundance Film Festival '12 directed by Destin Daniel Cretton you would have heard of the band Canines. It's not clear whether they are a fictional band or a real one as they have had live shows but let's assume the latter. Either way the self titled album they put out is pretty darn amazing. Canines consists of Joel P West who some of you may know from the band The Tree Ring, Dominic Bogart who plays the central character Brooke Hyde in the film, and Lauren Coleman who plays Spring Hyde.
I guarentee you this album is magnificent and compelling, Dominic's heart broken voice sings an honest portrayal of grief accompanied by an acoustic guitar and minimalist drums. Dear people lend Canines your ears.

Title Fight - Be A Toy
New song from the Title Fight boys. Be A Toy has a great punk rock melody and those signiture tonal vocals we all know and love. This song is featured on their Spring Songs EP out in November on Revelation Records.
SolarSolar - I Can't Find You
Obsessed with this song. Also a perfect example of music supervision done right, Laura Webb you are brilliant.
Have Mercy - The Earth Pushed Back
Have Mercy are a four piece rock band from Baltimore, MD who have put out this killer LP called The Earth Pushed Back. They made waves with their single Lets Talk About Your Hair, which appeared on their EP My Oldest Friend and has now been carried over to the new album. This recent effort from Have Mercy shows growth in their sound and I can't wait to hear more from these guys.
Record Label - Topshelf Records
Samaris - Goda Tungl
This icelandic trio will make you question what you're doing with your life as they are just barely 18 and making some of the most original and catchy music. This band have found a unique identity in their music, the electro hip hop beats against smooth and moving vocals are mesmerising. You realise listening to Samaris you are onto a band who are something special and you want to keep them as your little secret but with all great bands they will be known by all in time.
Pick up a copy of their EP Hljóma Þú or their self titled debut full length.
Record Label - One Little Indian Records
North Lorna - Nanford
I've posted about North Lorna before but this guy makes amazing instrumental music so definitely check out his stuff. Ambient tunes that are easy to listen to whatever time of the day it is wherever you are!
Deap Vally - End Of The World
Deap Vally are a twosome made up of some kickass females playing on drums (Julie Edwards) and guitar (Lindsey Troy). They'll kick you in the chest with their raw sound and their tell it like it is lyrics. Put on their album Sistrionix and I can guarantee you won't stop moving for the many minutes that the record is spinning. If I had to try and describe their sound I'd say "Think of if the Black Keys were women..." but really they bring a whole new game to the music table.
Paper Plates - Guttermouth
Rapper Paper Plates' makes it look easy as his flow slays the beat produced by Juna Cosmos. Their EP Degenerate Art is out now which you can download on bandcamp through the link below.

Youth - Boy's Chore
I came across this gem of a song while searching for new pop punk bands to listen to on Bandcamp. It caught my attention immediately as the intro starts off with the instrumental picking of the guitar and a slow and steady drum beat but as the song develops it gets progressively harder. Vocalist Dave Hurban sings his heart out with honesty and conviction. Give a listen to the whole Saudade EP because it's definitely worth the time.

Alt J - Bloodflood
If there's one thing I can say about Alt J it is that they are an inspired and original bunch, catching my attention in 2012 with the track Breezeblocks the boys from Leeds, UK have shown themselves as musical geniuses switching up their sound from song to song whether it's a choir boy accapella (Interlude 1) or a gritty and bass filled groover (Fitzpleasure). They also have a Mercury Award under their belts if you had any doubts about how brilliant they are.
Their album An Awesome Wave has produced hit after hit and you never want to skip a song even if it is your fourth time listening to the album on repeat. I'll leave you to make sense of the lyrics though but for all incomprehensible lyrics the songs sure are catchy.
Record Label - Infectious Records
Death Cab For Cutie - Brothers On A Hotel Bed
Death Cab For Cutie are an indie rock band, THE indie rock band. Their accolades stretching across more papers than you and I could ever hope to write on. The album Plans was released on Atlantic Records in 2005 and still continues to stand as a staple album that every fan of the genre owns.
I never get tired of hearing Brothers On A Hotel Bed, the intro is a perfect way to lead us into a journey. The lyrics read like poetry set against a backdrop of synth tones, piano keys and a unique drumming style. In this day and age where the barrage of indie rock bands seem endless Death Cab still stand out and for a good reason.
Standout Tracks - Crooked Teeth, What Sarah Said
Record Label - Atlantic Records
Owl and Penny - Candy Teeth
I've been listening to Ryan Osterman's music for a while now having discovered his stuff on youtube and the quality of his music has gone up with every release. His minimalist acoustic sound (dubbed Ghost-Folk by Osterman himself due to his falsetto vocals that sings hauntingly over the acoustic fingering of his guitar) has scored many of my nights. With his new album Milk and Sugar you can tell Owl and Penny has poured his soul into this release and I really think it is one of the best albums I have heard this year.
