Cecilos Week 2023: June 11-17

I’m not the original creator, but I’m here now to bring this event back from the dead!

Hi everyone, I hope you’re all doing well! Unfortunately, I won’t have time to organize Cecilos Week again this year, as I... may have committed to too many other projects. This blog won’t be deleted or anything though, in case anyone wants to look at the art backlog.

It would be fun if the phantom ocean was the event that lead Carlos to Night Vale.

Carlos is doing a deep dive, deeper than he feels comfortable with given the risks, the equipment, but he's pressured to by the University. It's going okay until suddenly it's really not, and ultimately he gets to a point where he knows he's not going to be able to ascend. The pressure is too high. His tank is running low. He’s silting out. He begins to panic and hallucinate, and it's here where the name Night Vale is whispered in his ear by death herself, or maybe even a radio host, as a second chance and salvation and ultimately, he dies.

But then he wakes up in a hospital bed which doesn't make any sense because no one should have been able to recover him at that depth. Neither does Night Vale being written into maps on his phone when he goes to enter it with weak hands but it's already there.And the University praises him for his discovery that he brings to their attention, and he focuses on that little town he's never been to but feels like he's always known, because it's easier than dealing with the fact that everyone is telling him he surfaced on his own.

He can't even logically assume that it was his brain responding to lack of oxygen and toxic gas because that means he should be dead. That means Night Vale should not be real. But how else would the name of this town that didn't exist up until this very moment come to be in his brain if it were not for hallucinations? But if he were to believe one thing, then the other thing must follow. Suddenly he's met, for the very first time, that cause does not have to balance out with effect and it's his very first lesson on his way to being Night Valian.

What if we kissed about it and about how the man who everyone is meant to listen to without question looks at this stranger and tells everyone to listen to him? What then?

EXACTLY ‼️ That Voice gave carlos a piece of itself into order to bring him back from the brink, and carlos carries that piece all the way back to its home. and That Voice looks at him in awe and admiration and that piece it gave was its heart. letting carlos hold that fluttering fragile broken thing because all carlos has ever wanted to do was help and protect and nurture. and he can now, because he's where he's always supposed to be. and just like it took almost dying in e25 for him to realize he's home, it took almost dying in that cave for him to realize he was not home. and both times That Voice guided his soul back to its body, comforted and cradled him, and gave him a sense of direction while his mind was still buzzing and dizzy and in the astral plane and carlos was just out of it enough to buy into the madness because maybe everyone in the uowii was right, maybe he always was a little crazy

Scientist x Radio show host needs to be an au.

And it doesn't even have to necessarily be a Nightvale au, but just scientist x radio show host. Kind of like how you have flower shop owner x tattoo artist aus ya know?

Istg Cecilos scientist x radio show host is just so fuckin iconic it just needs its very own au.

i for one vouch to start this movement if it has already not been. i swear i will make this happen with my own bare hands if necessary, in the name of Cecilos. o7

I am having an exam on Tuesday so I better get off this site bc I haven't really studied yet lol

I am so thankfull for the event, I really had so much fun doing these, I look forward to next year <3
