Takumi raised his eyebrows, surprised. “Really?” It was one of the rumors Hoshidan soldiers had gathered around to tell, making their Nohrian adversaries all the more frightening. Some generals went so far as to avoid fighting Nohrian forces after sunset, believing it would give them the advantage. Takumi couldn’t help but think it would be helpful to have night vision.
“Well…” He paused, remembering that most things he’d heard of Nyssa’s people were - not very good things. Wrinkling his nose, he recited, “They say you eat frogs and snakes.”

Nevermind the fact that it wasn't commonplace to train after sundown, but rather before sunrise- it still worked, didn't it? Nyssa let her hand fall back to her side, allowing it to rest on the hilt of her sword. ❛❛ Besides that, most Nohrian offenses have been at night, correct? ❜❜ It was a rhetorical question, but one that she was certain would play along with the rumors (or should she call them horror stories?) of her home country's army, if not add to them.
At the mention of frogs and snakes, she rose an eyebrow in surprise. "Where did you hear that?" she wondered, absentmindedly thinking of who could have told him that before shrugging and gracing him with an answer. ❛❛ I mean, it's true. You might think it to be strange, but it's true. ❜❜ She may have never tried either of them herself, but in her travels she'd seen many different... delicacies in towns across Nohr. ❛❛ The whole country doesn't eat them, just certain areas. ❜❜ She found that frog legs were a common food item in small villages in the northern, marshy territories of Nohr, whereas some desert towns in the southwest- closer to Nestra- found snakes to be a comfort food.
