“Prince Takumi? To what do I owe the pleasure, Milord?”
@princefujin
Zep found himself enchanted by the sights of the Hoshidan capital. It was unlike anything he’s ever seen before, and that’s saying a lot for an Archagent who’s traveled a lot within his diplomatic division.
He found himself curious by the people, the food, the customs, the architecture, and the environment of this place. Unlike Nohr, which more closely resembled the style of some European variant of his world, Hoshido was very distinct and unique that was outside the realm of Zep’s familiarity. His head snapped back to the front as the carriage came to a halt. His escorts led him to the front of the royal castle where he would be received inside by a certain young Hoshidan prince.
Zep stood around idly by the throne room as he looked around examining the interior. He felt rather nervous about his new assignment. After already meeting up with Prince Leo with Nohr, he wasn’t sure how their counterparts would welcome him if at all... He knew the New Eden Covenant’s presence had been established and that news of their arrival in this world had spread quickly... In Nohr, there had been public curiosities with some undertones of suspicions towards Zep and the empire he represented, but just what was the Hoshidan’s impression of him here?
If nothing else, Zep resolved himself to at least make this first meeting one premised on kindness and cooperation.

[ ✘ ] - The sun had set hours ago, sending the campground into what would be a chilling darkness had she been back in Nohr; because she was in Hoshido instead, the landscape was bathed in the light of the half moon and the stars shone brightly in the sky. It was a sight to behold for those unused to its beauty and every night, without fail, Nyssa decided to forgo sleeping in favor of training and then stargazing.
That night, she had been stationed at the mess hall until sundown; when her shift was over, she made herself a Nohrian dish for supper, cleaned up, and set out towards the training grounds. Once there, the swordswoman set her blade aside and picked up a training sword instead, wanting the extra practice with a Hoshidan blade- a katana- so she may fit in better during battle. A few hours were spent in this way before, finally exhausted, Nyssa let out a long sigh and laid herself down on the cool grass to gaze up at the sky and pick out constellations.
Her arms were crossed behind her head, serving as a makeshift pillow- granted, with her thin suit of armor it wasn’t a very comfortable one, yet she nearly found herself falling asleep from the quiet calmness until she heard footsteps nearby. The sound caused her to immediately get up from her spot, grabbing her sword in the process and unsheathing it as she called out, ❛❛ -Who’s there? ❜❜
-- ❝ Takumi, you're not busy right now, are you? ❞
The prince greeted his brother, attempting to put on his warmest smile. He wasted no time after the last fight to seek out the archer, and he was relieved to have caught him before anyone else. Perhaps he might have been too hopeful that the two might be able to chat despite any hostility, and perhaps he was being a bit too opportunistic by taking advantage of the chance, but... he still did not want to let the opening go from his grasp.
❝ I saw you got injured in the last battle, so I thought I could help tend to your wounds. I may not be as skilled as Sakura, but I'm hopefully not incompetent. ❞
Emphasis on hopefully.

"What is that? Are there bandages under your shirt?"
Henry grinned. “Yep! I accidentally ended up in range of an enemy archer and it hurt, but man was that some great blood!” He neglected to mention to the stranger that every healer in the army had scolded him, saying that he could’ve died. “Say, who are you, anyway? I’ve never seen you before!”

Illuminated by only the shallow light of the moon, the creases upon the outlaw’s scarred face had been carved into deep caverns that made the thick, permanent lines beneath his eye all the more apparent. Forcing his lone, dry eye shut, he ran a rough hand through his hair in a pitiful attempt to relieve just a bit of the dull pain that nipped at the back of his head. With the mild headache the course of the day had induced growing worse with each passing moment, his already easily irritated personality had become all the more deplorable.
Sleep was a rarity for the thief, and the reasons behind that were numerous, but with the countless soldiers from Hoshido lurking about the joint camp of a certain draconic member of royalty, he had all the more cause to remain restless. Trust was something he did not grant easily, not even to his Nohrian allies, and he would be damned if he would give it so easily to those who had once been his lord’s enemies. Peace, while it might have been something others valued, had never been terribly important to Zero, but if Leo believed following his wayward sibling would result in the world he most desired, his retainer had little choice but to follow and obey.
Agitated and tense, the outlaw dragged himself away from the massive tent the Nohrian royals had been stationed at for the horribly long night. Boots making not a sound, as they were dragged rather lazily through the damp grass surrounding the maze of tents and supplies scattered about the grounds of the army’s current camp. Able to distinguish the tents by their make, he felt his lips curl slightly in distaste whenever he passed one of Hoshido origin. It was an unintentional, instinctive reaction that Zero would not have noticed if Leo had not warned him to remain peaceful towards their ‘allies.’
Dismissing the lecture, he returned his attention to finding some sort of distraction from his raging thoughts. If sleep refused to come, he could at least kill a bit of time, and burn off just a small portion of his hatred through shooting. For an archer of his caliber, light was not be needed to hit a target; moving or otherwise. After all, he was far more accustomed to taking aim beneath the dim stars than making a shot in the middle of the day. Murder was, for the most part, a hobby best practiced in the late hours of a quiet night.
But as he drew further away from the camp, a muffled sound began to reach his ears. One he recognized without needing to hear it twice. The slight aching of a tree, as the head of an arrow buried itself into its thick surface, and the almost muted thump that followed. Drawing near brought the young, silver-haired prince into the outlaw’s view. Lips curling into a grin, as he approached the other.
“Are you all alone, your highness? Hasn’t anyone warned you of what unfortunate encounters your actions might result in?” And one those words from the retainer’s lips, they were most certainly a thread. Respect he might have held for the royal family of Nohr, he did not offer the same to the siblings from Hoshido. Not yet, at least.
