This is in response to that sapphics saying to just deal with it. Under the guise of “having it worse” or whatever.
I really hate that mentality. I hate the “others have it worse so just deal with it” bs. Why? Because while others might have worse situations, it does not take away from what someone is experiencing. Everyone has different tolerance levels. Everyone has different breaking points.
There is another picture with this point that I considered submitting but it features animal death so I thought against it but it is basically two wolves, an older one and a pup. The older one has like 10+ arrows in its back. While the pup has only one. And the pup is dead. Same point is made with that image as this one but I feel it hits the point (no pun intended) better than this one can.
Not everyone can take the same thing. Not everyone can handle the same circumstances. Someone who is dealing with “less” than someone else who has it “much worse” might not be able to take even that and it will be “just enough” to push them over the edge and cause serious damage.
This is not the oppression olympics. We all suffer. This is very much true. Rather than point out the different “levels” of suffering, we should be doing what we can to support each other and help others deal with their suffering. Not tell the others to “get over it I’ve got it worse”.
