A Young Apprentice
When you’re spending hours riding your bike next to someone, you shift through the general topics... and when you’re talking to someone 30+ years your senior, and had been retired for 12 years as a carpenter. You HAVE to ask them....Â
How did you meet your wife?Â
This man was an apprentice to a carpenter. It was far away from his house so he need to board at a near by house. He rented a house with a family, the daughter in the family would bake cookies for him when he got home. <3 Basically the beginning of their love story. <3Â
Why are we embarrassed by silence? What comfort do we find in all the noise?

The universe
The universe will give us what we need, when we need it, if we are ready, and if we want it.
“Despacito” - Syncopated Ladies
Here's an important lesson guys can learn from the ladies.
Yes to this!
We've all made fake accounts to track a crush down, right?
fav paragraph:Â
“My full-time job now actually involves social media for a brand, and one of things we do is find local influences for the brand. And in order to find those groups, I do the same thing. My boss is like, how are you so good at this? It's because I'm crazy.”

Leaning Into Patience
At times, life is an endless ladder on all fronts.
Current focus is to simmer in patience and appreciate the current state of being.Â
I never really thought of myself as a superhero movie kind of person. My favorite films have always leaned toward indie slice-of-life with quirky characters and romantic comedies. Then I saw Iron Man and freaked out! I loved Tony Stark’s quick wit and snappy comebacks. From there I moved on to Christopher Nolan’s moody, dark Batman, …
For when I am weak, then I am strong. Â
Learning to accept, embrace, and even enjoy the yin and yang of life is always some to strive towards. It is in the grind I find the motivation to move forward in sport-- which is really just a allegory for life.Â
I’m feeling great right now now; but I recall that just two weeks ago and a month ago I felt shitty.  I felt weak and frustrated with how I was riding. She’s stronger than me... and so is she! I thought. Will I ever be strong? The answer is yes! I am strong... stronger than I have been. Comparing myself to others is the fastest way to lose track of the journey and path I am on.Â
Last week’s racing and standing start practice at the track last week put me back on track. I was working through the mechanics of the standing start for time trial events. It was sloppy. But each subsequent effort got better; by the fourth effort it felt powerful and fast. It motivated me, I love the process, the grind, and having a growth mindset.Â
Big race next weekend!
