I aspire to be as sweet as Deedee Magno Hall
She’s just the absolute sweetest
I’m just going to go ahead and share a personal experience on why OK K.O and Steven Universe are special to me.
Not too long ago I found out, 20 years later in my life, that my father wasn’t actually my father. I grew up being cared for and loved by this person, he treated me like his own kid alogside my brothers and sister, (who are all his). A lot of people suspected that I wasn’t his kid due to my unrelated hair color and eyes.
So one day the news arrived at the front door of my mind delivered by my mother that my “dad” wasn’t my biological dad. It absolutely shattered me. But it did NOT make me think differently of either of my parents. I’ve never met my biological father due to some issues and I don’t know much about him.
But I think that with the recent reveal of K.O’s father and Steven’s mother not being who he thought she was is something I can relate to a lot.
It’s important for shows like these to touch down on these subjects because it relates with their audience and can help make people not feel so alone in these particular battles that we have to face in our lives.
I’m not going to say “I wish these types of shows were around when I was a kid” I’m going to say that I’m glad they are even here especially during this difficult time in my life.
