“Yes, a night club.” It was very fitting for him, at least that’s what he felt. He wasn’t the biggest fan of work but mixing business with pleasure had always been something he was fond of and so he had jumped on the opportunity to buy out the previous owners and had done the place up to the highest standards. “Always the shrewd business woman Celeste. It’ll do until I get bored.” Which would most likely happen at some point. “But I look forward to your visit.”

“Money makes the world go round, Sebastian. Don’t forget it,” she replied simply. “Besides, the more of this little town we hold under our thumbs, the better,” Celeste added mischievously. “As you should. Do Frida and Gabriel know of your latest acquisition?”

“I wouldn’t want to take the pleasure away from you by banning you from my lives. You seem to enjoy visiting me too much.” Christian answered back with just as much teasing as she offered him. “And you’ve never given me a reason to tell you to stop yet.” There was only one real reason he could think of which would make him reconsider her friendship and that would be the very same reason that he was created for.

“I’m sure I could find someone else to toy with,” Celeste did her best to remain unbothered, even more amused really. “Was killing you really not reason enough? Well, well– I’m certainly curious as to what it takes for you to draw the line.”

“It’s not me gambling that is the issue.” He was quick to point out. He had self restraint, at least where gambling was concerned. Xavier appeared to be making a show of considering the woman’s offer. “Hm… And what would that discount be? Do I have a few free drinks thrown in there too?” The dark haired male pressed, a smirk playing across his lips. 

“I know, but I’m just saying you don’t have to come to the casino to gamble. There’s many other ways to occupy yourself there as I’m sure you’re familiar with,” she replied. “I’m sure that’s something that could be open for discussion between Gabriel and I.”

Celeste considered the woman underprepared in that regard but kept it to herself, “Well it doesn’t hurt to keep one handy. And or even napkins or handkerchiefs. You never know when you can run into a mini crisis such as this one.”

But there have been bigger stains and bigger messes, those are the ones I’d end up in jail for.” He told the other, not being able to help himself from smiling, even though she was tutting at him. “I thought you would, but I’m also aware that I’ve made that statement very clear to you on more then one occasion in the time in which we’ve known one another.” Gabriel let out a hum and sat back slightly in his chair, “None. I thought I would take a break from scheming, let myself just have some ol’ fashioned fun for one day before getting back to business. How about you? Charmed anyone interesting?” 

“I know what you meant,” Celeste ducked her head slightly. “But you’re a lot more capable than you give yourself credit for. Don’t forget that,” she felt the need to remind him. “Doesn’t mean I don’t love to hear it,” she added with a playful wink. She set aside the napkin, listening to his answer while showing he had her undivided attention. “Totally respectable. Slower days are needed after all,” Celeste nodded in understanding. “Can’t say I have. I did however wander my way over to the school and talk to a few of the staff. Spreading word of our casino and also just taking notes on the people who live here, you know how it goes after all.”

“I don’t recall ever saying such a thing.” Christian answered with a little laugh. “I know what you’re capable of Celeste, but I also know you can be much more than you pretend to be too.” Christian spoke softly, a more serious and honest expression befalling his features. “I wouldn’t spend time with you if I didn’t believe that.” There had to be some goodness in a person to capture Christian and Celeste had that in droves. “And I had noticed. You always seem to appear at some point during my timelines. I’m not sure if I should be worried about actual stalking now that I think about it in that way.”

Celeste pursed her lips, trying her best not to let it show how those words held onto her. Perhaps that was one of the reasons why she kept gravitating towards the man despite the danger he could potentially pose to her. His honesty and good heart were a rare qualities. “I could stop appearing but are you sure you wouldn’t miss me too much? I feel like I ensure life isn’t too boring or monotonous for you.”

At the confirmation, Xavier moved to pour a second cup out, raising an eyebrow at the others attempts to get him to come to the casino. “So you are touting right now. In an attempt to gain more clientele?” At here of all places. “I attend occasionally but those losing money don’t make for very good bedfellows. I’m not a fan of a partner crying during or after sex.”

“Oh please, Xavier, you don’t have to gamble,” Celeste insisted. “Some people prefer to sit by the bar. You could do plenty of poaching for potential partners there if you ask me.” She paused for a moment before raising one of her brows slightly, “What if I would throw in some sort of favorite customer’s discount?”

“I hear some promising students come out of these halls,” she smiled lightly. “That’s fascinating stuff. Are students diligent in your lessons? I know some can shrug off subjects such as Latin but it’s nice if you teach a passionate group,” Celeste continued with the small talk curiously. “Please to meet you, Vanya. I’m Celeste Montgomery,” she replied, holding her hand out to shake the other’s.

“Because you haven’t been listening I’ve been able to insult you several times over without you realizing,” Celeste replied simply. “Now that you’ve chosen to tune in sounds like the prime time for me to promptly exit this enlightening conversation,” she then nodded.  “Perhaps learn to be more respectful of others, hmm? Listen when they talk? A wild concept for you to grasp– clearly.”

“That sounds fair,” she replied after a moment of thinking it over. Celeste reached into her handbag for a moment before fishing out a business card to hand over to him. “Coral Diamond Casino. Ask for Celeste Montgomery. How does 10:30 in the morning sound?”

“And don’t you wear them well…” Sebastian murmured, letting his fingers glide along the jewels lightly, a smirk on his lips. Quite beautiful really.” He paused, one hand resting on Celeste’s shoulder in a light touch. “I’ll admit that things like this perhaps aren’t as pointless when worn by you.” A hum escaped him though when the woman asked what his newest endeavour was. “I’ve acquired the local nightclub actually. I thought that might entertain me for a little while. I’m sure it’ll bring in quite the interesting clients.”

“I do make diamonds look good, don’t I?” Celeste sighed lightly with a smile as Sebastian ran his own fingers along her necklace only to rest a hand on his shoulder. He truly did have all the moves down, she’d have to give him that, but she knew and he knew things weren’t quite like that between the two of them. “Night club?” This caused a mischievous smirk to reach her lips, “Perfect. The more Nortknot real estate we can get our hands on the better– you know?” she added. “I’ll definitely have to stop by and bring you a congratulatory gift and more customers.”

You know, you can’t take it with you when you die so I am really hoping you spend it frivolously.” Still, he gave an unattractive snort when Celeste suggested that his car was not classy. “You have terrible taste.” But he also didn’t deny that he was always up to something. “I have to keep myself entertained. You know how it is…”

“Of course some has gone on precious jewels and a nice home but– I am not making these lavish purchases daily is what I mean,” Celeste replied, her hand absentmindedly running along the expensive diamonds on her neck. “I beg to differ,” she huffed lightly back. “It does get rather boring when you’ve been around for a long time, I’ll give you that. What’s your newest endeavor, if I may ask?”

“Is it an excuse when it’s true… but I’ll give you the old part.” Christian admitted, rubbing at the back of his neck as he laughed. “You know enough about me to know I’m not one to fight unnecessarily. I’m not you.” He added playfully, humming when Celeste commented about him being around. “Why? You know, if you’re not careful people might begin to think you actually enjoy my company.”

“Your pride is ridiculous sometimes,” Celeste shook her head, fighting the urge to let a smile peak through. “Are you saying I don’t know how to be calculating? Because you’d be very wrong there,” she looked to him with a rather challenging look in her eyes. “Don’t be silly,” Celeste insisted. “I do rather enjoy making your lives a living hell though.”
