Lazily strolling along the ledge of the river as she did everyday on her way home, the blonde gave a nod and a wave to the boat guys after they gave her usual warning to be careful. Though everything seemed to be like it normally was, today he was in for a bit of a surprise.
'Luuuuucuuuucy'
Turning her head to the direction of the oh so familiar sound she saw Natsu running towards. Was it just her or was he going extremely fast with no signs of stopping..
"Lucy!!!"
"Wai—Wait.. Natsu.. Slow down— Y-you’re gonna c—crash!"
—Splash.
Golden Plains Are Waiting...
The gates had been destroyed. The dragons gone. Rogue gone. It was finally over. Though the battle would leave a permanent scar, at least there would be no more death, no more injuries because of the dragons. Who knows how many people had been injured and even died? That knowledge would come later. But for now, Lucy was just happy to know that the people she could see were okay.
As the salamander fell to the ground Lucy gasp. “Natsu!" She yelled, struggling to run over to him. Once she was closer she saw that he was okay. Well, as close to okay as he could be in his condition. He was alive. Lucy knelt down next to the other, moving him so his head lay in her lap.
"Natsu.." She whispered, tears falling from her brown orbs down to the ground. “Thank you Natsu.." She cried. Looking up she scanned the area. “Wendy! Come quick! Natsu is hurt!" The blonde yelled as the younger girl quickly ran towards them.
There they were. The Princess and her Dragon, on the castle floor, bruised and covered in crimson. The Salamander had really reached his limit in this matter, so much that even standing would be a pure accomplishment for him right now. But, as the warmth of her thighs emanated upon the scar upon his bare neck, now that his scarf had abandoned its post along his nape, it quirked his brow in the unconscious state he was in. Dark, slanted pools of charcoal finally revealed the boys condition, which was to be desired at this point and time.
He was alive, but not by much. Threads of crimson fluids ran from his skull and down to his bare nape, as tears of the Blonde splashed upon his dirt encrusted cheek, snapping his conscious state back to their situation. It was Lucy…she was…crying? Why….didn’t Natsu defeat the threat to their future? The look she wore…it resembled Future Lucy, right before she…died. Would this Lucy ever…do that…
No.
"…L-Lucy…what are…you crying about..?"
The blonde blinked, hearing a voice struggle to piece together some words. Glancing down at the barely alive salamander she simply smiled at his question, shaking her head. "Nothing, its nothing." She replied before looking back up, urging for the young dragon slayer to come and tend to the others wounds. "I'm just happy.."
Once again Natsu had saved the day, he was her knight in shiny armor. Or rather her protective dragon. Always coming to her rescue. Soon enough, Wendy had arrived. "Wendy, quickly, heal Natsu. He's badly injured." Lucy pleaded as Wendy began to heal the male. Lucy smiled down at the boy, gently stroking his pink locks off his blood stained face. "You did good Natsu. You saved the day again. Just wait, soon you'll be up on your feet more fired up then ever." The celestial mage spoke softly.

The fight was over. The magic world had survived yet again from another attack to the order, but at what cost. The world had been sent into a spiraling depression within the walls, even if the Dragons were gone. Damage had been done, and time could never change that. The Cist was destroyed, a pile of rubble remaining.
There, The Salamander stood. Bleeding and broken from the fight, but somehow still standing. Clothes tattered to near string, lips encrusted with blood. As crimson juices ran along his eye lid, he let out a sigh, before moving a talon to wipe it away. Natsu, who had saved everyone, was surely going to pass out at any moment from blood loss.
"Damn…my limit…" He choked out, before coming face to face with the tower floor. Almost ironic, his trusty scarf had laid itself almost as a cushion for his face. Maybe a sign that Igneel was still watching over him? Possibly. It was a nice thought to The Dragon Slayer as he drifted away into unconsciousness.

She easily picked up on his annoyance, before he even said anything. But what was she to do? She just wanted to make sure he was okay. With a pout she crossed her arms over her chest. “Well you don’t have to call me annoying Natsu. I’m just trying to help you know?”
“And what are you talking about? Your wounds are bad!” She protested. “Someone has to look after you, you can’t be trusted to do it by yourself. You’ll probably just make your wounds worse!” The blonde’s pout soon changed to a frown as her brows furrowed.
“Hmph. But fine. If I’m so annoying I’ll leave you alone then.” She spoke, turning on her heel and beginning to walk off. “Honestly. I’m just trying to help the idiot. Its for his own good.” She thought to herself.
There it was. Her legendary pout and guilt trip. Damn her! Did she read his damn mind about how to easily break his absolute resolve over her annoying ways? This was just way too much for a wounded Salamander without his wings.
She turned on a heel, but before she could take a step, a wounded talon soon gripped her wrist lightly, holding her in place. With a loud, hovering sigh of defeat, Natsu finally spoke to this blonde, who seemed even cuter while she was pouting like a five year old, if that was even possible.
“Fine. Stay. I don’t mind. i’m about to eat anyway, so it’s fine if you wanna fix up my bandages while that’s happening…if ya’ want.” Natsu proclaimed, defeated optics glancing to the side, studying the wall of the house, as to signal her to just get in before he dragged her.
Though she tried, she couldn't keep her frown for long. A bright smile soon took its place as soon as she felt his hand on her wrist. After all she knew then she had won. She chuckled inwardly as she stepped into his house. "So you want me to stay?" She asked with a slight smirk.
"i brought some fresh bandages with me just in case you needed them." She said with a smile. "Now sit down so I can start." Before he could even answer she made him sit down on the couch, where she began to remove some of his bandages and put the to the side. "Well.. At least your wounds seem to be getting a little better... I guess." She mumbled to herself, noticing the slight change from the last time she had seen them.
"D-doesn't matter! You'll be better in no time I'm sure of it!" Lucy had decided to stay positive. Even though his wounds were severe, this was Natsu. Nothing could effect him.
||~Injured Romance~||
Lucy frowned, a small pout forming at his lack of enthusiasm to see her. Placing a hand on her hip she gave him a disappointed look. “I came to see you Natsu. How are your wounds?” The blonde asked, titling her head slightly.
“Have you been resting? You need to rest so you’ll get better sooner. And have you been eating proper foods? What about your bandages? Do you need me to change them or anything? If you need any help with anything don’t hesitate to ask.” Lucy said, not even through the door yet and already talking nonstop.
Realising she was probably annoying the boy she stopped. She couldn’t help it though. She cared about him and worried about him being out here all by himself while being so badly injured.
And there she went, off on another lecturing journey against the boy. Question after question, and not even ten seconds had passed since the door revealed her cheerful face. What was this kind of hell? How could he possibly escape from such a death grip on his wounded state by a troubling blonde. it seemed hopeless, so Natsu accepted his fate, and let it be.
“Yes, yeah, uh huh, nah, sure, definitely-“ There he went on as well, rattling off the usual responses to her common questions. As he answered, The Salamander unsheathed a sly appendage from behind his teeth, showing his pure annoyance.
Lucy had felt pretty guilty about Natsu’s wounds, seeing as he only fought so hard because of her future counterpart being destroyed in front of his own eyes. Rogue HAD to pay. Seeing her worry so much was clearly annoying, but these wounds were slow paced, and more severe then most. A whole row of his rib cage had been shattered by that bastard!
“Lucy…this getting annoying…my wounds aren’t that bad, ya’ know?” He spoke, trying to calm the Mage down from her worried high.

Lucy walked through the town of Magnolia. Not stoping for a moment as she passed the busy people. Soon enough she found herself in the forest just outside of the town. With a big smile on her face she saw a familiar house, which she quickly walked over to and knocked on the big door. “Natsu~! It’s Lucy! Are you home?”
The Salamander was just about to sit down to a meal with his companion, which, of course, was a fish banquet, roasted by yours truly! But then, there was a bang at the door, and a familiar, easing voice called out to him. Uuuuugh. Lucy again? What was with her lately?
“Jeez…coming, Lucy…” He stated, soon leaving his spot and limping quietly to the door. Limping? Oh, yes, he had been injured from the whole fight with Future Rogue a few weeks back. Could that be why the Mage had to annoy him every second of the day? Whatever reason she had was not just enough for this.
As Natsu opened the door, only to view the cheery smile of the blonde, he spoke, wrapping bandaged arms behind his head in leisure.
“What is it, Lucy?”

Humm.. Long story short this is an AU(duh) where Natsu’s a soldier on field and Lucy is a journalist that went to Afghanistan and they met there… Yup, that’s it.
