Death
Cynthia would never admit it, but the death of her parent affected her more than she'd willingly let out. She lived a happy live, gained a little sister when she was 6, then lost her parents when she was 9. Her parents were archeologists that were hired to check out a ruin in Hoenn, not knowing that it would turn into their grave due to a collapsed wall and because of this, she was left with her grandmother and forced to grow up.
Birth mark?
The champion has always considered herself an open book when it came to the media. She never really kept secret fro them just so they would never be able to bother her with rumors and gossip. But the one thing she made sure to keep away from them was her tiny birthmark that only a hand full of people know about.
And by hand full, she meant her family and people who walk in on her while she takes a bath.
Another Day [Open RP]
Aaron had found his usual stool in the kitchen and had hopped on it as usual, legs swinging back and forth above the ground as he watched Cynthia move about the room. He smiled a little at the kiss to his forehead, the champion could be really sweet when she wanted to be. While he was fairly capable of feeding himself, Aaron wasn’t about to turn down the offer. Cynthia was one of the better cooks of the group, Aaron wasn’t really supposed to touch the stove anymore after that one time, but really the whole thing was more Flint’s fault to begin with.
Oh well.
He nodded, smile wide. “Sounds good to me.” Laughing a little, he shook his head at the mention of Flint. “You know him, he sleeps like a log, but even if he does wake up, the more the merrier, right? Oh, can you put chocolate chips in the waffles?” Aaron was very aware that the other members treated him like a kid most of the time, but he usually didn’t mind too much, gave him more of a chance to act like one.
More the merrier her foot.
"As much as I agree with that..." she said as she reached from the waffle iron which was kept in one of the cupboards "...having to deal with a hungry Flint at this time? I don't think I'm mentally capable of doing that." Sure she loved her elites and sure she'd do anything for them. But she was still human, and Flint was probably the only person capable of pissing off the champion then have her forgive him with in seconds. Cynthia actually found his "power over her" really annoying but then, as long as everyone was happy, she would willingly suck it up.
It didn't take long for her to have everything set up, to have the waffle batter prepared, the bacon defrosted and everything cooked and on a plate. As her little brother/adopted son, she would even go the extra mile and use the special chocolate ships and pour him a glass of milk to go with it.
Cynthia knew she was probably spoiling the boy rotten, but how could she, or anyone for that matter, resist those puppy dog eyes. A secret weakness of hers but of course she'd never let him know that.
"Eat up kid." she said as she leaned over the counter with that familiar smile one her lips. The one that would assure anyone that they were officially off the hook.

Another Day [Open RP]
Nodding, Aaron quickly moved to do so, biting his lip to stop himself from saying anything else incriminating. He was a little surprised there hadn’t been any yelling yet, but he wasn’t about to complain. It would probably happen eventually. Honestly, he wasn’t sure how she hadn’t found out about his tree climbing before, it wasn’t like this was the first day he had done it.
Maybe today was just unlucky.
He smiled innocently as he followed her orders and quickly darted inside, Vespiquen not far behind him. “So, um, did you sleep okay, Cynthia?” Change the topic, must avoid being yelled at.
She merely groaned as she followed the boy into the house. This was probably fate telling her that she would be an unfit mother and thus a bad idea to give her a boyfriend. That or she was over thinking things again because it was 6 in the morning. Whatever it was, she made sure to forget it by the time she dragged herself into the house and straight to the kitchen where her darling little son/little brother/child was waiting for her with his huge puppy dog eyes that simply screamed "feed me".
A sigh.
"I got some pretty decent sleep I guess." she said as she gave the boy a good morning/I'm sorry for almost throwing you off the cliff myself kiss on the forehead then heading for the fridge. "What are you in the mood for kid? I'm thinking bacon and waffles but I fear Flint waking up the moment he hears bacon sizzling on the stove." She would have laughed at her own statement if only it wasn't true. Sometimes she questioned that man and all his...quirks.
Another Day [Open RP]
Blinking his wide green eyes, Aaron turned quickly at the sound of the all to familiar voice. Uh oh, that didn’t look like Cynthia’s happy face. He quickly went through a mental check list to make sure he hadn’t pulled any stupid pranks or spilled something on anything important in the last few days. Nothing came to mind so his put on his best innocent smile.
“Good morning to you, too, Cynthia.” He cocked his head to one side, rubbing the back of his neck a little sheepishly. Alright, so maybe that tree had been a little high, but it was nothing he couldn’t handle. Sometimes he didn’t really get why she freaked out so much about such little things. Still, he knew better than to question her.
That never ended well for anyone.
“I was just, y’know, getting a little exercise. Vespiquen gets restless in the morning… and so do I,” he added quickly when his Pokemon shot him a rather disgusted look. She wasn’t about to let him throw her under the bus, even if it was sort of true that she was the reason he became a morning person in the first place.
He waved a hand lightly. “It’s not really that high, just kinda looks that way from down here. Perspective or something, I dunno. I’ve climbed way taller ones that that one before…” And he realized about a second after the words were out of his mouth that there was no way that would make the situation any better.
“Heh, um, your hair looks nice today? Since you’re up, wanna grab breakfast or something?” His words were a little more rushed than usual, trying to change the subject. Being yelled at first thing in the morning was not how he wanted to start the day.
She wasn't in the mood to yell, sure she wasn't a morning person and she was up at sunrise but no, she wasn't going to yell. Though she was at tipping point the moment he mentioned 'higher trees' and it was quite evident in her facial expressions that she was just holding it in.
"Just...get inside." she hissed, pointing to the back door of the house.
Another Day [Open RP]
The early morning sun in Sinnoh was always best viewed from a tree. At least, it was in Aaron’s opinion. He had always been an early riser and tended to get up just before sunrise. As per usual, he had headed out and found a tall tree to spend the early morning hours in.
His Vespiquen buzzed about in the branches near him, trying to find a place to settle, but she, very much like her trainer, had a rather hard time keeping still for very long. Aaron swung his legs back and forth as he watched the sun slowly make its way up over the horizon. It was one of the very few times he was quiet for an extended period of time, usually he was rather hard to shut up, much to the annoyance of his fellow Elite Four members. For the moment, he was content to sit in silence.
The moment didn’t last very long though. Shifting a bit so as to not lose his balance, Aaron threw up his arms, stretching and yawning. Now that the sun was taking its usual place, he found the boredom starting to settle in.
That simply wouldn’t do.
He caught his Vespiquen’s attention and jerked his head, motioning for her to follow as he made his way to the ground. Landing on the ground a few moments later, Aaron picked a few leaves out of his hair and glanced around. There had to be something to do, or at least someone around to bother.
With a quiet sigh, he started off, hands swinging back and forth at his sides, looking for something to keep him occupied for the day.
The champion wasn't quite sure what possessed her to wake up at such an ungodly hour. It wasn't even close to her usual wake up time, Flint wasn't up yet so the morning wake up call wasn't going to begin any time soon, and to top it all off, she was probably the worst person to be with at 5 in the morning.
But since she was already up, she might as well do something productive...or something to put her back to sleep, whatever came first.
"Arceus...I hate you so much..." she muttered as she dragged her sorry self out of her room and into the kitchen where she noticed something from outside the kitchen window.
When it came to her elites, Cynthia was VERY over protective of them. Of course she had to be since she was the only female champion at the time and taking care of her elites would mean keeping their loyalty to her. That and because she just found it fun to take care of the four. But if one were to ask her who needed her attention the most, she would always say Flint but then realize he was far too hopeless and would instead choose Aaron because he was like her baby brother and nothing would change that.
And so seeing him on top of a tree at 5 or maybe 6 in the morning would definitely make her somewhat mother instincts kick into overdrive.
"Aaron, what the hell were you doing up there?!" she said as she saw the boy walking back to the villa. Maybe looking for something to do? After all, it was 6 and that'd mean everything would still be dead silent.

Steven and Cynthia
“Old…?”
Okay, so maybe Drake was getting up in his years, but the rest of the Hoenn Elites weren’t that old, were they? Sidney and Phoebe weren’t, that was for sure. And to be honest, Steven hadn’t a clue as to how old Glacia was. And then there was him at twenty-eight years old, slowly but surely edging onto thirty. That still wasn’t old, or at least he thought so…
Maybe he was thinking too much into this.
“Oh, ah, it’s different, that’s for sure,” Steven answered, smiling to Cynthia. “Though, don’t you remember what it’s not like to be a Champion? I’d say it’s just like it was beforehand, only now you have that experience on your hands… as well as a fanbase of your very own, haha. Can’t forget that, can we?”
"Well for the record, I've never had a normal life." she said taking a seat on the nearby sofa. Steven knew her from way back when so maybe he did know about everything. About how she lost her parents at a young age, about having to live up to her grandmother's standards and joining the league when she was one 15. She never really knew how it felt going on outings with family, or playing with other little kids. But she really didn't want to talk about that right now.
"As for the fan...well being the only female, I get the whackiest ones."
Emmet beamed at Cynthia as she hugged him gently, eying his costume with a certain look. It made the white-clad Subway Master slightly giddy with excitement. True, they could match, and it was the whole reason the young man practically tackled the Sinnoh Champion. He blushed, pleased, at her compliment. Him? Cute? Not that Emmet would say it out loud, but he actually spent a while on his appearance. He had to look professional, but not stuffy.
He tilted his head to a side at her predicament. Ride him? That was easy! He turned around, grinning back at her. “Just hop on!” he said, clearly thrilled. “It’s easy! You can just cling to my back and sit on the back of the train!” It was sturdy enough - he had built it himself, as unlikely as that seemed, and it was quite formidable. Oh yeah, did he say the top was made out of some scrap metal yet? Fun facts.
“All aboard!”
So just to clarify, because the champion CLEARLY couldn't process his suggestion. He was going to give her a sort of piggy back ride but she was going to literally take a seat on his costume? Would it even hold her?
The thought worried her a bit, but the she realized that it was a party and it's always more fun when you do something stupid.
"Uhm...well alrighty~" she said as she got on his back and balanced herself on the train costume. It felt like she was on one of those kiddie rides that you'd find outside a grocery store and as weird as it was.
It felt awesome.
"Let's do this then! CHOO CHOO!"
Steven and Cynthia
Steven chuckled warmly at Cynthia’s playful words. It was reassuring to know the that she hadn’t changed much from the woman that he knew not only as the beautiful Sinnoh Champion, but as a close friend of his from far back in their younger years. “That’s great, then, isn’t it? I suppose I got lucky with the Hoenn Elites; they’re all very mature and collected. Which reminds me, I should maybe pay them all a visit sometime…”
"I suppose...I mean your elites are kinda old aren't they?" she said, poking him playfully. Mr. Prim and Proper, and his band of his aging elites. She would call them that as a joke but honestly she has never seen such a perfect blend of elites ever. All of them so formal and what not while she had to take care of the pyro, her baby bug boy, the nerd and the strictest grandma ever.
Okay maybe not the strictest, that title went to her own grandmother back at Celestic Town but people who knew Bertha would understand what she meant.
"I am curious though, how does it feel to not be a member of the league? I've given so much of my time to the title that I can barely remember what it's like to be normal."
Ice Cream and Dragons
Lance quickly picked up and read over the reports she handed him. He sensed that he had pressed her patience quite a bit, the tired comment nearly confirming it. He regretted a but ruining her mood with his eagerness to hear about her story. Then again, she did have to talk him out of going to Distortion World. He quietly turned the pages, absorbing everything recorded down.
A few minutes passed, “Sorry, I didn’t mean to bring down your mood, Cynthia.” He told her as he turned the page once again, “I can see why you wouldn’t want others to visit this place. Then the fact that the Spirit Trio wouldn’t be there to help guide others out…”, he looked at her next to him.
He moved his cape over a bit, to function as a makeshift blanket for her. “I am a wondering a bit why Giratini pulled you all to it’s world in the beginning. Since none of you were killed there, what was it’s purpose?”
"Giratina." she mumbled into his shoulder
"It took Cyrus with it into the other dimension as he was attempting to create the perfect world and so I had to jump in a make sure Giratina wouldn't do any damage to our world."
It felt so much easier to explain to him now that he understood her notes. Every little detail that would have taken her hours to explain were skipped and it did brighten her mood a bit. Not that he ruined it in the first place...because he didn't...at all.
"No need to apologize Lance, I'm not mad or anything."
