“You get the moving staircases? Really? ‘Cause I don’t, and I spent like seven years here,” said Fred, shrugging mildly. The best theory he had on them was that Rowena Ravenclaw had – like his father and namesake – been a prankster, and had made these stairs as a practical joke. A rather long-running one, at this point. “And, er – well, the ghosts are kinda everywhere and nowhere I’m afraid. At least it’s just Nick, you know. Not Peeves or the Baron. Have you met them, yet?” He paused for a second. “I never liked the idea of ghosts much either, though.”
“I mean-- they’re like escalators right? Some weird fun-house escalators that don’t always get you to where you need to go--- at least that’s what everyone has said. Did you get the avoid the staircases speech too?” A pout formed on her lips at the unpleasant news that ghosts, in fact, are everywhere. Things here at Hogwarts ( a stupid name in Celeste’s opinion ) seemed to be just barely better than being out there. “Just Nick.” Nick turned around at sound of his name eliciting a yelp from her. “Just Nick sounds like he’s Peppa Pig’s best friend and he certainly doesn’t look like it.” Celeste nudged Fred forward with him position in between her and the ghost, hoping that they could make it as far away from Nick as possible. “--And you’re telling me there’s more? Like him?...But worse?”
“You know, I-I, um, get the whole ‘moving staircase’ and ‘gifs on the wall’ and everything else but...” Celeste held a hand over her eyes, edging behind the nearest person while peaking through her fingers at a very clearly, disgruntled Nearly-Headless Nick. “I don’t really, ah, get the whole, um...” She shuddered, turning so that she was mostly hidden. It wasn’t everyday that you were faced with a nearly headless ghost after surviving zombie attacks. “It’s just...the one thing I could never do is, like, haunted houses so I just...how-- do I go back to the area where there is no..ghosts?”
❝ Besides the only law that applied to her was gravity, and some days she defied that, too. ❞
CELESTE DIGGORY really is the spitting image of KANG MINA, right? For someone only TWENTY years old, CEL has been forced to endure so much. Yeah, that MUGGLE has been scraping by at the sanctuary since OCTOBER, 2028, working as a SOLDIER AND GUARD in the DIVISION OF PROTECTION. SHE identifies as CIS WOMAN and is known to be DIRECT and RECKLESS but also TENACIOUS and CHARMING. Best of luck surviving through this. ⊰ JO, TWENTY-FIVE, EST, SHE/HER ⊱

Trigger Warnings: torture mention.
History: ( torture tw )
Celeste was born on a snowy December 7th to Rhys and Annette Diggory. The high school sweethearts had planned on two children, however a case of baby fever and one too many glasses of wine on their weekly date night, and they ended up with three. While her siblings were more conservative like her father, Celeste embodied the best of both of them; her mother’s big heart and her father’s simplistic honesty. She was born in Nice, France but the Diggorys had decided to move to London just before Celeste started kindergarten at the age of three. This is where Celeste met Lily and ever since became best friends.
Her family was quite well off as her mother was a journalist for a fashion magazine and her father a renowned music professor after retiring from his music career for their family. Her brother grew up to be a lawyer, a damn good one at that, and her older sister ( sophmore ) studied at Oxford while she was finishing up Sixth Form ( April-May 2027 ) and beginning her first semester at Cambridge ( September 2027 – 2nd starting in Jan 2027 ).
The attacks came as a shock as it seemed no one was safe. Masked men dressed in black robes appeared as if out of thin air and wreaked havoc only to be gone in seconds. It was the beginning of the end it seemed and she’d seen it with her own eyes: a wish of their hand and perfectly healthy people were writhing on the ground screaming in pain. It was confusing but that didn’t stop her from standing her ground against these…WEIRDOS?
It was late October and the Halloween party she was at had become the target – and Celeste came face to face with her first Death Eater. In efforts to protect her friends she had stood strong, shooting a fiery glare into the eyes of the mask, too stupidly brave to back down. After all this was some douchebag in a costume, right? The wand was raised as insults about ‘muggles’ spilled from the man’s lips, however before he could hurt her, he was struck from the back by a blinding flash of white light. –Oblivated and sent back home, she still felt that something was off every once in a while when the light hit metal and shined in her eyes. That white light somehow feeling familiar and scary all at the same time.
December and November passed as normally as it could. Her birthday had been stellar, Christmas and New Year’s was even better than the year before – thankfully as they would unfortunately be her last.
She returned to school only to be preoccupied, as most other students where, by the headlines of attacks and news stations interviewing people who had witnessed the attacks. Hysteria over ‘The End of The World’ had already began as more and more reports were released and riots erupted. The government swept them up into quarentine and thankfully, her family had been reunited in London – though not for long.
It took only a mere month for everything to fall apart. The quarantine that they were staying at was attacked by a massive horde of zombies and in the panic she was separated from her family by those who pushed and shoved their way to the doors only to find the building surrounded. Her saving grace was her brother, who split from the other three diggorys out of worry for her and pulled her to her feet. She clung to him and sobbed for her mother, but his strength is the only thing that managed to keep them to safety.
Celeste and her older brother had been travelling through the countryside for months, hearing from other survivors (both muggle and wixen) about a fortress in Scotland that served as a refuge for people, no matter if they had magical blood or not. It’s been a long, arduous road, filled with a lot of near-misses from rogue inferi, but Celeste hopes that this safe place is actually safe and she’s doubtful that it is.
Celeste is determined to settle down and make herself a ‘home’ as she feels that there’s no other way to survive this zombie stuff otherwise? But she’s particularly good with a bow due to archery she learned when she was in school – so she is typically assigned to stealth missions now. STILL trying to have a good time tho.
Chill Personality Section LOL:
her brother and sister are well mannered and then there’s…celeste lmfao the youngest of three and probably the most spoiled out of her siblings. she has quite the charm – even though you don’t like what she’s doing you end up following her anyways.
if there’s an adventure, she’ll find it. honestly she has bright eyes and knack for finding all of those hidden treasures the world has to offer. there is no ‘i can’t do it’. it’s always I WILL DO IT. which a lot of the times gets her in a lot of trouble ( like say climbing up but not knowing how to get back down?? )
she has had a lot of broken bones and injuries in her past due to her diving into things without having a plan how to get back out – but even that doesn’t stop her.
famous last words: “IT’LL BE FINEE~~~”
she’s extremely determined and tenacious. once she grabs onto something be it a project, bungee jumping, an argument, you name it – she won’t let go until she has the last word in it.
she’s also honest, brutally so. no matter who you are if you don’t want to hear the truth – the blunt truth at that – you should just not ask. she’ll tell it as it is. if you don’t look good in something, she’ll tell you. if she thinks what you did was stupid, she’ll tell you. she doesn’t spare feelings when it comes to telling the truth or pointing out what went wrong. dat sass doe. even so she’s really friendly and open minded. she has a bright personality and a knack for extreme sports and makeup. and honestly she loves to joke around and tease people ( not in a mean way but in a fun way )
she is often lmfao seen as flirtatious and sometimes she does mean to joke that way but other times she’s like ??? why do u think that pls
honestly the type that’d break your wand if you’re mean to her.
“She was as easy to find in that crowd as a rose among nettles. Everything was made bright by her. She was the smile that shed light on all around her.”
— Leo Tolstoy, Anna Karenina (via theclassicsreader)
lmao being mean is so boring like??? complimenting girls? smiling at people when ur walking around town?? being mindful of the energy that ur tone and body language are putting out?? GOD thats so chic
She dived in, head first and tumbling. She broke the surface and swam deep, plowing through every defense and obstacle. She planted herself at the core, right at the center of the heart, and renamed herself; Protecter. Defender. Comforter. I just call her stength.
She floored me. It is as simple as that. There was something electric about her. Something singular. Something appealing. Something erotic. She had so much personality.
