Assessment

For the 4th Nine weeks, I made two videos.

The first one I made was a Thank You video to go to all of the schools and communitites who helped us after the April 9th tragedy.  I thought the video came together well in the end after it was combined with Julia and Nick, however I wish more of my clips were in it of students holding signs.

The second video I made was another trivia package asking students about events from this year.  I liked how I did this news package more than others because I put clips in place of the screen that had the questions.  I thought it came together nicely for only working on it for about a week, when they usually take me longer.

I feel like I got the amount of work needed done, I wish we would've been able to do more such as Franklin's Got Talent, but we will be more prepared for next year.

4th Nine Weeks Jobs:

Teleprompter:  I liked doing telepromper, but it is not my favorite job.  I thought I did a decent job at it, but it is hard to go slow when the anchors want to read very fast.

Sound:  I really like sound, because I do it for stage crew.  It was very easy for me because I used the mute button instead of sliding the sound up and down when the anchor switched.

Extras for Fourth Nine Weeks

During the fourth nine weeks, I came down two times to help with the sixth period Intro to TV class.  I helped work cameras and be a floor manager to help them record their show.

Extras for the Third Nine Weeks

For my outside shoot for this nine weeks, I recorded the chorus, guitar ensemble, and Molasses Creek concert on March 12th.  I think I made the video look pretty well because I panned, zoomed, and showed different views of the show.

Jobs for the Third Nine Weeks

For the Third Nine Weeks, the jobs I had were:

Main Anchor:  I thought I did well with this job, it's not the first time I've anchored so I knew what things work best for me.  I love being on camera and I don't mind speaking in front of people, so I think that helped as well.

Camera (1st and 2nd half):  Camera is a pretty easy job, it may not be exciting, but it is very important.  I don't mind it because it is needed to make a show, but it is not my first choice.

Segment Anchor:  This was my first time being segment and it was actually pretty fun.  I felt less stress and pressed for time than the main anchors so that was nice, and I liked it because some the script was longer on some days for sports and others it was shorter.

For my third nine weeks news package, I decided to see how much students payed attention to the news and media.  I asked a series of questions ranging from naming the three oldest Kardashian sisters to who is the current Vice President.

This is my PSA that was entered for the TVT Video Contest.  The topic of the PSA was anorexia, bulimia, and how girls view themselves.  I thought my video was well put together, and well planned, too.  Many people complimented it and I hope that it raises awareness for this cause.

Here is my creative video I made for the 2013 Telethon.  I made a trivia video asking students how well they knew their trivia about the movies "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" , "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer", "The Polar Express", and "Elf".

I thought I did pretty good with this video with the special effects, especially the boxes I put my questions that asked them to name all of Santa's reindeer.  I wish I would've done more with the pictures on the parts where it asked the questions.  I wish I would've animated them or added something to it.

Jobs for the Second Nine Weeks

The jobs I had in the studio for the second nine weeks were:

Tricaster (Switcher) :  I liked being switcher very much.  I thought that the system was very easy to understand.  Yes, I did make mistakes here and there, but over all I think I was pretty good at the job.

Camera 1 : People say that working a camera is the easiest job in the studio.  I do have to agree.  Camera was a very easy job, with the exception of not being able to see our shots when the TVs are not working.

Anchor :  I love anchoring and think I have improved this year.  Miss Lyons gave us a bunch of pointers that really effect how well you present yourself and speak.  I learned which words to punch, what not to wear, and I also learned to not make yourself have 'zombie eyes'.

Director :  I've only directed a few times because we just switched jobs, but I think it's a fun job.  It can be stressful if were barely making the time to get on air, but we have all improved at that.  I think I do a good job with the camera shots, and telling the Tricaster which videos and shots need to come next in the show.

This is my news package for the 2nd nine weeks.  I created a video about 2013 history.  Many things happened this year, but some people did not pay that much attention.  I think this is the best video I have ever created in this class.  I thought it was very well put together and the videos and music added a nice touch as well.

Here is my work from the Telethon.  I thought I did pretty good at anchoring, but I think I could've done better if I didn't look at my notecards as much.  I love anchoring and I think I have improved this year so far.
