- Flat plane with a environment material (White).
- Camera with white environment background setup (White).
- 2 spot lights and one ambient light, set up with area light and raytracing functionality.

Here is a partial test render of the unfinished final animation
A playblast of the Toaster acting playful, using the frontal snout IK to control the movement.
A playblast of the walk cycle
Completed rig.
Features include:
- Master Locator
- Front IK mover for snout
- Full body IK for vertebral arch
Here is a hand drawn storyboard
As shown is an animatic showing the timing of the scenes.
Here is an initial storyboard of the animation.
Shown in sequence are:
- Title screen
- Toast falls
- Toast falls into slot
- Lever pulls down
- Toast launches
- Toaster sprints in circle
- Toaster catches toast
- Jumps around excitedly
- Sniffs at camera
- Runs in circle
Here is a movement summary for my animation, showcasing the four movement types:
- The walk cycle will be reminiscent of a small dog, namely a Corgi which, much like the Corgi, has short stubby legs. This entails a lot of vertebral arching, which varies in frequency from a walk to a sprint.
-The velocity cycle will be represented by the toaster launching into the air, sprinting in a circle, and catching the toast at the origin. There will be a slow motion section within this to vary the speed.
- The prop element will be represented by the toast. The toaster will interact with this prop by launching it into the air, catching it, and interrupting its fall. While the toast is still in the slots, it bobs up and down and follows the contour of the toaster while it moves.
- The gravity cycle will be represented by the toast jumping around excitedly and also a backflip.
As shown are some developmental sketches for toaster designs.
Shown here is a video test of the rig, complete with toast!
Beginnings of my modelled toaster and its rig, which uses a skinned IK skeleton. Tools such as extrude and bevel were used to model a cube into the end shape.
The toaster is modelled upon a Kenwood K-Mix retro toaster.
