" He is," The roman language, even after all these years, still did not sound right when passing her lips.
He was clean now, very clean. Psyche was thankful for it. She saw enough blood on a daily basis due to her own in laws. She spoke to the... what was his name again? Oh, she didn't care. He was nothing more than the handler." You will leave us until after the morning meal. You understand, yes?"
; "Yes, my lady." Bellator bowed, taking a few more steps towards the lady. He jerked Milo's chained wrists as he went, forcing the Celt to stumble after him. Milo didn't make a sound, but the iron clanged against his wrists painfully. "But an overnight purchase will cost you a little extra, I'm afraid."
Milo kept his eyes on the floor and his face unreadable. He tried disappearing, escaping into the deep recesses of his memory where home dwelt. But he kept jerking back to the present, twisting nausea in his stomach refusing to let him forget why he was at this Grecian's villa and what he truly was to her and all like her: nothing, another plaything for them to purchase, enjoy, and discard. Most days, Milo's abhorrence of his chains was tempered by the knowledge that he had known little else in his lifetime. But on night such as these, when doors were locked and barred in dark rooms where his only purpose for breathing was to please, the prince of horsemen riled inside the slave's heart.

❝ thank you, milo. ❞
she’ll return a gentle smile, despite previous reservations about this particular horse. ❝ —— she’s not likely to act up again, is she ? only i shouldn’t like to FALL … ❞
Milo returned the little princess's smile. She was always so kind. He often wondered where the sweet disposition came from, since it was inherited from neither Robert or Cersei. He loved the king, but he wasn't kind.
"Would you like me to run her for you before you mount? She'll calm easier that way."

Loras laughed, something which he didn’t do all that often. He couldn’t remember exactly what was so funny but knew that if anyone overheard him, or Milo, they would both be in trouble. "Shh," He giggled, wiggling away from the other boy’s poke to the stomach, "Get off!"
Milo smiled, laughing almost imperceptibly. He'd bonded with the little whipping boy very quickly, showing Loras sides of himself he rarely if ever showed to anyone else in the Red Keep. "Alright, but only if you swear not to eat all of those sweets His Grace sent me. They were meant for me, you know," he teased quietly. But Milo didn't really mind. Robert gave him gifts often, and Loras never really received anything except Joffrey's lashes.

Erik gestured for Charles to leave, and Charles did so reluctantly.
Once they were alone, Erik turned back to Milo.
"I don’t like having people in my head either. Charles is kind and understanding, but nosy. We haven’t even known each other two weeks yet, and he already knows my most private thoughts." Erik could see his discomfort in his body language, he was used to making people uncomfortable, it was one of the more fun things about hunting nazis.
Milo felt more at ease when the telepath left. Even if this man was a mutant and made him anxious, he couldn't reach into his head like the other one could. Delilah stepped closer to Milo, nuzzling his dark curls with her nose. He was calmer, and now she was calmer. He took her face in his hands, smiling slightly as he ran his fingers through her mane.
"--- I haven't told anyone my real name in years," he muttered quietly without looking at the man. I liked having that secret.

Psyche followed the games across the empire. She found the violence abhorrent but the men who doled it out to be of interest. Mainly because of the strange lands they hailed from. When Psyche was still mortal and young, the world was so small… then Caesar Augustus showed her just how large it really was. Her great nephew, if the rumor that he was a distant descendant of Aphrodite could be trusted, would return from his campaigns with wild stories about not only the lands but the people who inhabited it.
Of course Psyche herself would never be permitted to travel so far from the Mediterranean. Even with Hedone out of the nest, so to speak, her husband still expected her home at sundown.
She was obviously Greek. Standing out like a sore thumb among the Romans with her fashions, far too Eastern to be of the Peninsula it’s self, and her accent. But she was a wealthy Greek and that granted her access to just about anything. Money was a key which opened many doors.
Several men were selected for her inspection, chained of course for her protection. She surveyed each man carefully. A Gaul- she’d met one before and held little interest in meeting another. A German- always a fun loving and interesting bunch but sadly, she had already met several.
Gaul, Gaul, Gaul…
The final man was something called a Celt. The word was unfamiliar to her.
"I will take him. Have him bathed and brought to my villa."
Milo never really felt the chains anymore. Unless they were traveling, the gladiators were rarely required to wear them. But this woman seemed to be of importance, and she'd likely complained about protection. Some of the women did this, though most of the Romans thought the chains restricted their fun, keeping them from touching the slaves everywhere they wished to touch them.
But this woman was a Greek, and she was not interested in merely looking. Milo's face was impassive as always, but his insides roiled and clenched. Killing was nothing; the blood never turned his stomach or wracked him with shame. But the whoring, the obligations to please the men and women who purchased him for the night... He hated that worse than anything in his life. He felt more like the dog, more like the nothing, Bellator called him in the bed of a Roman woman than anywhere else.
The Celt was pulled away from the rest of the gladiators and taken to the bathing house of the ludus. He scrubbed himself clean, ridding his skin of the blood and sand of the training yard, begrudgingly. He wished he could stay in the bathing pools forever, but Bellator ordered him out as soon as the trainer was satisfied with Milo's appearance. A slave girl combed through his curly hair, and the black locks fairly shone when she finished. Milo was clothed in a kilt and cloak, his wrists chained for the journey to the Greek woman's villa; then they were leaving in a wagon, the caged back where Milo was kept covered to prevent onlookers from seeing inside.
Regretfully, the villa was not too far from the ludus. Milo hated the cage, but he hated the thought of what awaited him even more. Most would think him mad for dreading the touch of a beautiful woman, but Milo didn't care. Bellator yanked him down from the wagon by the manacles on his wrists, then led the Celt inside the villa's doors. A slave directed them to an open room with linen curtains dancing with the breeze of the night air. Milo's black eyes found the Greek woman on a kline before Bellator saw her. When the trainer found her as well, he pulled Milo towards her.
"Here is the slave you requested, my lady. Is he still to your liking?"
