Gyuri pursed her lips after covering them with gloss, the only makeup she wore whenever working on her courier activities besides BB cream. She then picked up her phone and read the last message once again. She smiled and checked her reflection in the mirror, concerned about her looks as if she was about to meet her love interest. That was definitely not how the Nephilim saw Jackson, but she was indeed excited to find out how heâd try to seduce her this time. It was fun every time he did it, and heâd done it every time theyâd met. Well⊠not just fun, but incredibly hot, she had to admit it. Jackson was the kind of man who could bring an innocent soul to desire commit her first deadly sin: lust. And, surprising enough, Gyuri considered herself to be that soul. Of course, the girl wouldnât succumb to his charms, ever. It was tempting, yes, but the fun in waving him off and see his reaction was also delightful.
Ten minutes, huh? He was lucky that she knew Cheongdam-dong well enough to remember a fairly high number of reflective surfaces there.
After wondering if she should make this an exception and add mascara to her face, the girl shook her head and concentrated on turning the mirror into her passage to the fastest way to meet Jackson: the âempty Seoulâ reality.
She stepped inside the mirror and then she was there, in a room just like hers but which wasnât exactly it. She ran outside to the find the street empty of life, the lights shut and the sound cut. She focused on changing the dimension a bit while she crossed the road, and when she turned the corner there it was: the car sheâd wished for. Gyuri knew nothing about it â she wasnât good at that stuff â but sheâd seen it in a magazine and it had seemed to be pretty fast, enough to take her to her destination in time. She opened the door, which was unlocked, and drove through the streets of Seoul pretending she was character from Fast and Furious, except with no cars to make adrenaline join the rush she felt. The Nephilim wasnât really into races or anything, but it did feel good to be able to control how fast she moved with any restrictions. It sort of gave her power, just like a candy would give her energy.
Eight minutes after, she pulled over in front of a building which belonged to some certainly well known company sheâd never heard of. Even its glass walls could turn into reflective surfaces, how convenient. However, Gyuri preferred to be discreet, as her job actually asked for it. She walked over to the closest reflective surface she could make use of: in a back alleyway of which she didnât have the best memories, there was a mirror she had used only once in her life. It was actually just a fragment, a little piece mysteriously spiked in a wall. It had saved her once, but only to bring her to a distinct nightmare. Gyuri didnât know if she liked it or not, but it wasnât something for her to decide now. She ran towards it, although it didnât make much difference if she was a bit late. Even if Jackson was a client of high standards, this meeting wasnât entirely about that and she knew heâd call her again either way. The deal had been ten times, after all.
The alleyway was dark, of course. However, it felt much darker to Gyuri and more dangerous than it actually was. Especially since she was alone in this dimention. Regardless, the Nephilim stopped at its entry, pied a terre on the floor and rushed to the shadow, closing her eyes while her feet guided her to the exact spot where she knew the mirror was. It was as if she was afraid that she shadows would catch her and she had to leave there quickly so that she could be safe.
Gyuri opened her eyes just before she saw the polished surface, and she focused on crossing it successfully in a jump. It wasnât. Instead of entering the real alleyway and running out to the light where people were, the Nephilim crashed into something â or rather, someone â who had for sure been leaning on that wall. Well, not anymore. That person was now prawled on the floor, and Gyuri was on top of him.
