it was a night like any other. instead of staying at the organization to work until late, hara was going to spend half of her night at the casino. it was one of those nights, when she had to lie to her father about her whereabouts, only revealing that she was going to arrive home late. it had never been an easy lie, not with the amount of bodyguards trying to find her. with the passing months, while she worked at the casino, the witch had learned how to escape from them. somehow, that had made her life easier in a lot of aspects. at least now she had more freedom to enter the casino without be recognized.
that is when goo hara becomes serena. it was only a pseudonym, a name hiding a reality that couldn’t be mingled with the one she had at the casino. sometimes, she felt like she lived three lives at the same time. it was almost like, at some times, goo hara wasn’t even her real name. it was something complicated to describe, but when she was at the casino, she was only serena.
“time to work.” one of the singers distracted her from her thoughts. most of their performances had ended. only two more singers and the guest for tonight could take over the stage. it really didn’t matter, because hara knew she couldn’t stay in the dressing room until the end of the show. some of their customers were waiting for her and they had probably waited until the end of her performance to claim her as their lucky charm for tonight.
but everything was a game at seven luck. the customers not only had to use their efforts to win the gambling games, but also to have hara by their side. with so many customers, she couldn’t give her attention to everyone. depending of how long they stayed in the same, sometimes she could only have two players by her side. there was something unexplained about her abilities and this was something she also couldn’t explain. the truth was that whoever stayed by her side at any game, that someone was usually the winner. the same happened every single night and tonight, it wasn’t going to be any different.
they all looked the same, but even in a crowd, nobody would have problems in identify her. the witch was the only blonde and the shorter women of the group. as expected, as soon as hara walked out of the backstage door, people started to call her name. she offered them smiles, following the casino's employee to the game's table. it didn't take them long to get there. it was at one of the corners of the casino. sitting down at one of the chairs at the middle of the table, she waited for the sign that the game was ready to start. the employee nodded his head at her and the witch looked over her shoulder at the crowd of players. most of them were familiar faces.
“take a seat.” and game on.
