This was a fun and simple one to work on! It’s not often I work on a merfolk with a long tail but it was fun to do so, having their tail make a swirl was quite fun and helped put focus on the element. This isn’t my first time working on a pic of MerAmity but it was fun to do a different expression and try to capture that wonder while Gul looks excited.

I had to go with the pun! Getting this commission was a bit of a surprise but I also found out that this was by a common merfolk commissioner, so to have them commission me felt like an honor. The task they gave me was something outside of my usuals but I did the best I could. I seperated the tail from the body to make it easier to use both behind the head and for the water. The commissioner wanted the tail to be distorted and after finding the liquidfy tool later in, it made it much easier. I was also a little more restraint this time around in the character mer-re-design to stay closer to the commissioner’s vision of the design. Tho I will say I am really proud of this.

A job as a mercenary is to do the jobs that are more difficult for the commoners of the world. And sometimes that means taking on those with a great grasp on magic. Despite Bethany’s natural disadvantage against magic, she always takes the jobs needed to help people travel. Tho, in some including this instance, it does come at the cost of her being the target of many curses. And today, she is cursed to be a mermaid out of water.
This is an idea I had for about over a year, leaning into Bethany’s little curse. This also leans into a character originally introduced in the MerChange YCH. The hardest part of this one was actually the merform, I kept going back and forth on the color to best match her and not the armor, as I already knew it was going to be the armor. I’m more happy with the background, so much went into the lighting and the thunder, the waves ended up looking really good too! The best part of this piece tho, is just getting a bit of lore done!

This was a fun one! The commissioner had a big H2O Inspiration and I’m all for it! They asked for not only their own OC but also a new one within a moon pool as they transformed. Outside of some of the basic references, I was allowed to add my own flare to her and choose her color for the merform. The shading part ended up doing the majority of the work here and I’m proud of it! The pointing was my idea, inspired by the Spider-Man point and it adds a cute comedy to the scene.

Created as merch first, this was sparked during my watch of the movie, where it clicked for me that this was an evolution of Mermaid Melody’s standard plot. I really fell in love with how the movie used it’s characters and the music within the plot and with MerMagic con around the corner, I did a bit of rushing to complete them. I kept Zoey as close to the MMPPP’s style as much as possible given her personality; Mira was altered with more inspiration from her action attire; Rumi had more elements of the Black Beauty Sisters given her half-demon nature, with even inspiration from the manga for her microphone. I’m honestly really proud with how well this crossover came out!

Got a classic Merfolk scenario as a commission. I got something like this in the past and I wanted to do a better job if possible. The reference felt very H2O inspired so went closer with that route. The open windowed provide a beautiful light source to shine on Malduran and I really enjoyed add the details to the surfaces. I also took some advice from a YouTube comment and began reusing colored lines on different aspects; starting here with the fins.

This ended up being an art piece I worked on as a little break before diving back into commissions and other art pieces. With Golden Week coming up, I felt like it would be a good idea to work on a piece like this. I wanted her to be pouting or irritated, like she did this for promotion but is not happy about it. This was definitely more on the fanservice side but it did feel rather relieving
