So when he gets uploaded and has complete control, he decides instead of ending humanity immediately, he'd go the route of slow destruction; "because humanity has to end, but he wants as much time with the human as possible" and doing the non profit thing would help endure the human to him, instead of being terrified of an AI whose self aware.
