The Blackhawks’ Patrick Kane attended 10-year-old Matt Cannon’s birthday party last summer. Cannon later mailed Kane a puck he used to clinch his team’s squirt championship.

The reason the little kid mailed Kaner his championship-goal-scoring-puck is because the NHL lost the puck that Kane scored the 2010 Stanley Cup-winning goal with. Forty-seven years without a Cup, and you’d think that someone would make sure to keep track of something like that, but nooooo.

Anyway, the little kid felt bad for Kaner, who I’ll remind you had just won a Stanley Cup at the age of 20, so he gave him his puck.

You guys forgot one last part - Kane ended up mailing the puck back to Matt, with “Congratulations on your goal, you should be proud” and another autograph. Even though Kane doesn’t have his GW puck, he wanted to make sure Matt always has his. Kane was then invited to Matt’s 11th birthday party a week later.
