her brow furrowed at his words, not convinced that he was good at all. ashleys eyes widened at his confession âyou what? when?â she asked, worry and concern very present in her voice along with something that never reared itself to the surface; fear. she was frightened for him. not only had his property been damaged, but he was physically attacked. if naveen was in any doubt about ashleys feelings for him then they wouldâve been squashed there and then. âthatâs it, youâre not going home. youâre staying here, or weâll go elsewhere.â she demanded. whoever had done this to him clearly had an agenda since it wasnât an isolated attack.
turning to one of the housemaids ashley sent them to go get an icepack in case his injury still hurt. her eyes scanned over his face, her fingertips gently holding his chin and turning his head to the side to make sure there was nothing that needed immediate attention. ashley thought his question over and now that he mentioned it her security had to add additional bodies to their squad âsecurity mentioned that theyâve had to tighten up with a string of intruder attempts recently, but they thought it was just pressâ she explained looking up at him âdo you think itâs connected?â
âwhat do you want to do? donât apologise, iâm sorry someone is doing this to youâŚand on your birthday as well. what an assholeâ she frowned.
Naveen sighed. âThis morning.â He explained. âI was woken up with the news that there was red paint on the house, I walked out to see die written in red paint.â He shrugged. âI didnât think much of it till my butler came to tell that the car was destroyed, i didnât even have time to see it because before I knew it a man launched himself at me and knocked me on the ground. I think I might have hit my head but it happened so quickly I just didnât know what to think in the moment.â He sighed once more. He didnât want to startle Ashley, let alone make her afraid for him. He had things together, thatâs who he was. But the issue with this was that he didnât know what he had done wrong for the man to act this way. He couldnât even recall the man.
âMaybe its the husband of one of those women that tried to exploit me of my money?â He tried but he couldnât be too certain. He had shouted that Naveen had ruined his life. Perhaps the girlfriend had left him and he blamed naveen for that. âPerhaps its safer to go somewhere else Ashley.â He said when he heard that ashley too had more breakins happen.
âI donât want you to get hurt because of me. I wouldnât be able to live with myself if that was the case.â He wrapped his arms around her and rested his head on her shoulders. He then smiled. âYou remembered itâs my birthday?â
