Anna was at the coffee shop, getting some hot chocolate and chocolate chips because why not. "I can't believe is January already. Time is going by so fast." She spoke with the person next to her.

jane was over the moon with how well the opening of evangeline's went for ray and she was on cloud nine with their engagement. as a thank you, she personally wrote thank you cards to all attendees and had spent the day dropping them off to each of their houses.
"oh don't mind me, i'm just dropping off a card"
@happieststarters
Anna almost bumped into the woman as she walked, she was on her way back home, bringing her sister some hot chocolate just because she felt like it was a while since the last time she did it. "Sorry, I'm just glad I didn't get any hot chocolate in your card or on you."
“I know you’re excited about the snow, but please put on better shoes than slippers!” It was giving child on Christmas morning, running out here like that. That, or the house is on fire and I didn't have time to change. Meanwhile, Bailey was bundled up perhaps a bit too much, but the cold was never his favorite.
@happieststarters
Anna didn't like snow as much as her sister, the streets got way too slippery and she lost count of how many times she almost fell on her ass while walking her dog snow. Her Samoyed ran ahead while she walked slowly, when she looked at someone yelling she smiled. "looks like someone loves snows just as much as I do." She joked about it, since they were clearly dressed to stay warm.
Misty stood outside Evangeline's , she wasn't sure what was pounding harder, her heart or the stereos inside the restaurant. She takes A deep breath as she flattens her skirt and removes the red rhinestone covered toy knife. Why are you so nervous? You love Halloween, you love parties. Just because you don’t really know anybody, doesn’t mean it isn’t going to be an amazing night. She pushes the door open and is enveloped by the smell of the food and the sounds of music overtaking her. She makes her way to the bar and orders her drink. She takes A sip of the fruity drink in her hands and allows the music to take her away. Until her head suddenly turns to the left as her attention is drawn to someone laughing, she can't help but to make her way towards this siren song. She makes her way around A group of people who are deep in conversition, and A table full of well dressed strangers. Then she is face to face with the person whose laugh was an alluring melody. “So what are we drinking?”
@happieststarters
Anna didn't know a lot of people, but she was always looking forward to a chance to talk to strangers and make new friends. In the beginning, she was second-guessing her costume, she would normally dress up as a fairy, or a fun monster, the batgirl costume was a little too tight for her taste, but as the party went on, she almost forgot what she was wearing, and started to talk with everyone she could. Laughing and having fun, making superhero poses, she smiled when someone new joined the conversation. "I'm not sure, but is delicious." Anna answered. "I asked them for a sweet surprise." it didn't taste like alcohol in it, but it was hard to tell with those sweet drinks. "Do you wanna try?" She asked, offering the red drink to her.
Anna loved every party and excuse to leave the house, but she thought her excitement for Halloween might not fit her age, things were easy when she was younger, she could dress up and ask for candy but now, she wasn't sure what costume would be appropriate for her age.
After hours and hours of trying countless different costumes, she decided on batgirl, it seemed fun and not so childish like fairy or dragon which where her first ideas.
Arriving at the party and trying some of the delicious food she saw someone with a jacket that said they were dressed as a blueberry. "That's a very creative costume." Anna said with a sweet smile. "I wish mine was more like yours."
.
"Bah, it's not that creative," Remy said. "I'd call it lazy, really." It seemed like everyone else's costumes were so detailed and well thought out, even though he hadn't come to win any prizes he did feel a bit of shame in how he probably hadn't tried hard enough.
"Yours is pretty cool too," he complimented her, gesturing at the costume. "Where did you get it? Jack's Attic?" A few of his younger cousins had gotten theirs from there. He knew that there was a sales section of children's original costumes, sewn by one of the employees of the place. There were probably costumes for adults there, too. Maybe he should have gotten one of those, he thought.
"Yes." She answered him. "And few other details on the internet." She really wanted to get a batarang, but giving how clumsy she was, it was probably a bad idea to have something that sharp with her, so she got a plastic one.
She pointed out. "As long as you're having fun, the costume doesn't really matter." After all, this was a party. "Are you enjoying yourself? The food is incredible don't you think?" Anna was especially enjoying the sweets, it wasn't as fun as going trick or treat, but apparently, she was too old for that.
How fitting it was that tonight Redwood's residents adorned costumes. Hiding who they were, hiding what they'd done. The opening was innocent enough, of course but Gabriel Guzman wasn't going to let his guard down now. With an unreadable expression, he held his glass out to them--- "Cheers."
@happieststarters
Anna was having fun seeing everyone in costumes, trying to guess who it was under, she ditched her Batgirl mask, since it was getting in the way of her seeing properly, and people could easily understand who she was dressed as without it. When someone next to her said cheers she couldn't help but turn to them. " Are you enjoying the party?" She asked with a friendly smile.
Honeymaren was always one to support local businesses, so when she heard about the Grand Opening of Evangeline's, of course, she had to be there. The outside of the building was enough to make a jaw drop, so the inside must have been even better. "Wow... I have to admit, I'm a little nervous to go in," she chuckled, as she walked up to the place and saw so many people waiting to get in.
@happieststarters
Anna was excited for the party, the place was beautiful, she could see the effort they put into every little detail, it was breathtaking. As she arrived she couldn't help but overhear. "I can easily help you with that." She said sweetly offering her hand so they could go in together.
@happieststarters
Remy wasn't much of a Halloween person. Sure, he liked trick or treating when he was a kid, just like any other. And getting free candy, and an excuse to play pranks, was awesome. But, as he grew up, his interest in the holiday dwindled significantly. He would assume that was normal, much like with other holidays, like Christmas and Easter; but you wouldn't know that in Redwood Hollow, where people took every opportunity to have a party very seriously.
And from all the open-invitation parties in Redwood Hollow, the one which he had been the most interested in was that of this new restaurant, Evangeline's. The fact that they offered samples didn't hurt.
"In case you're wondering," Remy said to the person standing beside him, before they could open their mouth. "Yes, I'm dressed up for the occasion. As a blueberry." It consisted of a blue puffer jacket borrowed from a cousin, and a green beanie. It was probably a new record in low-effort costuming.

lottie la bouff was dubbing twenty twenty-three the year of reinvention and focusing on happiness. it was a nice idea, to focus on happiness, but in a town that thrived on drama, it may not be the easiest new year resolution to put in motion.
new year. new party. new charlotte - well at least a new dress for charlotte.
standing at the top of one set of grand marble stairs, charlotte watched on at the partygoers dancing and enjoying themselves, the music blaring, drinks flowing, confetti flying, charlotte had singlehandedly brought back the roaring twenties in remarkable fashion. and yet, for the first time in her life, a party was the last place she wanted to be. charlotte took a long swig of her drink, the party was in full swing and she knew all too well that there was no party like a la bouff party and a la bouff party didn’t stop.
@happieststarters
Her resolution was to try to be a little less clumsy, Elsa was so fancy, and it seemed that none of that genetic was past to her, with that in mind she choose a dress that it was more grown up instead of something happy and easy like a kid would wear, high heels was asking for too much to she went with flats, but it seemed like her resolution was going to fail before the new year even began.
As she walked, as it was expected Anna tripped, but manage to hold in a nearby arm, which was good otherwise she would have rolled down the fancy marble stairs. As she caught her balance again, Anna looked at the woman. “I’m so sorry.”She said knowing that most people didn’t exactly liked to be used as support.
fawn-weathers:
“Well, sometimes parties are good in small doses,” Fawn shrugged. Seemed strange to her that a young woman like Anna wouldn’t at least try to stay at the big New Year bash for a little longer, especially considering the reputation the LaBouffs had regarding their hosting skills To each their own, she figured. “Especially those big, noisy parties. When I was about your age, I would go with a bunch of friends, hop from party to party, spend about an hour, two hours in each, before moving on to the next one… Those were wild times,” she laughed, reminiscing about those good old days. “We were fearless, back then. The world seemed huge to us. But now, it seems so small… Or maybe it’s just that this town is so cozy,” she finished saying, rubbing her hands together to keep warm.
“Fawn. My pleasure,” she smiled. “Please, it’s no bother at all! The more the merrier, I always say,” Fawn exclaimed, leading the way back to the house, before turning around. “Of course, just if you’re up for it. I don’t really drive, if I did I’d love to help you get back home… Do you have anyone waiting for you?”
.
Anna smiled it, “I do like parties, and I was very happy to go to this one with so many people invited, however the party theme as you can see isn’t exactly something that fit me.” She said biting the corner of her lips. “After tripping countless time, even the staff were giving me a ugly eye, I thought that cutting my dress would make a little bit easier for me to walk, but it just make me look more like a mess.” Anna said with a small sad smile.
“Is lovely to meet you.” She answered politely. “No, my sister is still at the party so i don’t have anyone at home, and it would be nice not to spend the new year alone.” She already spend her fair share of new years alone, it would be a nice change, like old time when she spend with her entire family.
archiefeathursby:
Archie would rather drop dead than spend his New Year’s Eve at the La Bouff Bash. Town events were one thing, where he had to attend out of a sense of obligation and duty towards his career. But a private house party? With an endless sea of people, cacophony of raucous music, and everflowing alcohol from all directions? Hard pass.
If anything, he was probably just going to go home and fall asleep before midnight even struck. When you’ve gone through as many new years as he had, the charm of it wore off quickly, leaving another meaningless holiday for him to gripe about.
He was on his way back from the campus, empty of students but always with more work to do, when he noticed a woman walking from the other direction, muttering to herself. While he normally would’ve just let her pass without a word, the snow falling on her had him jumping into action, going to approach. He held out a hand to her. “It certainly isn’t. Are you alright?”
.
Anna would be embarrassed, however things like this were constantly happening to her, it wasn’t the first time and it wouldn’t be the last time a bunch of snow fall on her and someone was watching.
“Yes, just.... Colder.” She said moving her arms to hug herself to preserve the little bit of heat she still had. “The La Bouff party wasn’t exactly my style, but leaving was not a good idea. I should have stayed, but things would be a lot worse if I had high heels.” She chuckled, the idea of walking with high heels was already terrible, in the snow, she would end up breaking herself completely.
reaganrackett:
Reagan’s jaw nearly dropped to the floor. Not only did this girl return her stolen goods, but now she was offering free food? Was she an angel? A dumb, naive angel that a demon like Reagan could easily take advantage of? Before Anna had a chance to change her mind, she attached herself at the hip. “Yes please!” she chirped, looping their arms together as if they’d known each other a lifetime. “I’m Reagan. And I think we’re gonna be good friends.”
.
Anna smiled happily, she could really use a good friend and a distraction from her sister being in the hospital, the Christmas this year was going to be huge, because every time she saw something that Elsa or Ollie might enjoy, or it was just in the color that they liked it, she got it for them. “I think that as well.” She said as they started to walk toward the cafe since it was near by. “I always get hungry when i shop.” She chuckled. “i think I’m hungry all the time to say the truth, that’s why I always offer free cookies and hot chocolate at the ice rink, i would hate for people to get hungry and have to leave.” She said as they arrived at the cafe and the waitres directed them to a table. “’What are you going to get? Everything always look so delicious.”
fawn-weathers:
“Well, in my experience, December’s one of the coldest months,” Fawn chuckled, wrapping her chunky cardigan a little tighter around herself. “Are you going to that LaBouff party uptown?” she asked the young woman as she walked closer to her. “Or coming from it, by the look of it…” The young woman was definitely too elegantly dressed to be battling the old, snow-blanketed cobblestone streets of Redwood Hollow.
It was still about an hour till midnight. The New Year was so close Fawn could almost taste it… But, of course, it would not be a true New Year party without the obligatory champagne; so, after the customary rock-paper-scissors game between the three sisters to decide who would venture out to bring it from the shed (since they didn’t keep a drop of alcohol in the house, except perhaps rubbing alcohol), Fawn had gone out, picked up the champagne bottle, closed the shed and was now trying to make her way back in the snow to the house.
“Uh, miss?” she said louder, swinging the bottle in the air to call the young woman’s attention. “Would you like to come in for a moment? At least to warm up a bit. We got a nice stew cooking,” Fawn added, quirking her eyebrows. “And, as lovely as your slippers are, you might also need a sturdier pair of shoes to brave the snow.”
.
Anna wasn’t planning on walking her way back home, she tried to call for a car but the traffic of people still going to the party was too intense and with the time the car was going to take to arrive it would be faster to walk home, however she didn’t calculate the temperature, her shoes, and it was clearly a bad idea.
She smiled at the woman and nodded it. “Clearly leaving early wasn’t as much as a good idea as i thought.” she said with a smile, she wasn’t having fun, but at least she was warm and they had food.
“Anna.” She said introducing herself. “I would love to, but are you sure? I would hate to ruin your plans.” Most people spend the holidays with family and as much as Anna really wanted to go in and get warm, she didn’t want to be rude, she was a lot of things, clumsy being one of her big adjetives, but she wasn’t rude, never rude.
Anna left the party, the night had been fun, however the theme wasn’t exactly something she felt like she fit in, the dress was too tight, and she had problems moving, even without high heels she was still tripping and falling, she ripped her dress open so she could walk like a normal person, however she didn’t felt like she fit in anymore. Hans was right about her, it didn’t matter how many time she tried, she would never fit in with those people, not like Elsa did. “Stupid dress. stupid party...” Anna whispered as she walked toward her house, kicking a small rock, to make it roll. “Why is so cold outside?” She spoke alone, unlike Elsa, the cold did bothered her, after all. kicking the small rock a little bit stronger and making it hit a tree, the snow that the tree was holding with one of her branches fall on top of Anna’s head. “Today’s not my day.” She said realizing someone else had seem all the scene play out.
Ana trying to go with the theme of the party (how long until she trips and rip her dress so she can actually walk?)
