sharon and andy share a nice italian dinner at serve, their favourite restaurant in los angeles on new years eve. later in the evening andy whisks sharon away to spend the first few days of the year in nappa, a long-awaited time away from the stresses of work. as the closest thing they will have to a honeymoon, they make the most of every second spent together and talk about their first year ahead of them, as a married couple.

As I can now deal with fan fiction again, I’m here for all the alternative endings, hospital stories, not-even-going-there stories, all the AUs that take place in a completely different environment but stay true to character, all of it. Keep ‘em coming. It is their version of ending the story, it doesn’t have to be ours.

Honestly, just the fact that she cares so much that she wants us to understand her point of view. The fact that she got a bit angry because she thought some of us weren’t being fair to the people at MC BUT she REALLY wanted us to try to understand. It’s almost like we’re all her children. Even though I don’t think I agree with everything she said I could not love her anymore than at this point right now.

I think what makes this hard is that Sharon Raydor was my first real introduction to a character valued for her kindness. Yes she was sassy, but she was never mean. She valued treating people well, not because she wanted to appear to be good but that was intrinsically what she was.

You know what’s interesting about kind people? They provide hope and they make you feel included. Rusty, Andy, Julio, Amy, even Provenza were all characters that in some way were ostracized for their flaws or their misfortune. Each of those characters were made to feel included, valued and wanted because of Sharon.

Imagine seeing this on the TV and not having someone like Sharon in your life. Imagine the effect of knowing that someone like that is even possible. Imagine telling yourself that even if you never encounter a Sharon, that just maybe you can be a Sharon for someone else.

Kindness literally changes lives.

If you take anything from this show, take the same thing I have and try and be like Sharon - be kind, be inclusive, and know your value.

I got a bit suspicious when Sharon said that she was SO HAPPY multiple times. I feel like story lines tend to end in a certain way after that. But I never thought that this was actually going the be the outcome.

Thank you guys for posting all your thoughts on this. I’ve been crying for pretty much all of the last episode... and I’m so glad that I’m not alone with that and my thoughts. I kind of knew that it was going to happen, at some point in the beginning of the episode. But I tried so hard to deny it. It couldn’t be true. But of course it is. I am so sad, angry, frustrated and incredibly confused. I need explanations. Is this really how Sharon Raydor would have wanted to go? Did she do this deliberately? Did she die “while doing what she did best?” REALLY?! I need Mary’s opinion on this. And somehow, you know somehow (if I’m putting all my anger and sadness aside) it might actually make sense. Sharon not wanting to be a burden for anyone which is of course solely her point of view. Not wanting to sacrifice another person for her own life with a heart transplant. I don’t know. I’m just trying to understand. It’s just so unbelievably unfair. There could have been so many different outcomes and this is what they choose to do?? I hate this. I really do. For so many reasons. One of them being that this is yet ANOTHER series where she eventually dies. Just...great. She’s pretty good at other stuff too you know? I don’t think it’s fair. To us the fans, to Mary, to Sharon, to Andy. Oh my god Andy. I don’t even want to go there now..

I’m so glad that WWSRD exists. Also I would love to know what the hell HE was thinking. This was certainly not an ending that “gratified the fans”. Well done, I shall never watch anything of yours ever again. Sorry, it’s unlogical story lines and most of all heartache that I do not need in my life. If it would at least make sense.
