process gif of my last drawing

explanation of some of the steps:

sketch in color with my fave brush, lots of mistakes but thats ok

filling in bottom w dark grey for composition purposes and bc i knew i wanted to have that there later

‘’’line art’’’ done very roughly bc i’ll be painting over it anyway and its faster if i dont overthink it

value layer done in black with the marker tool, all the shades of grey are just different opacities bc the min density is set to zero

flat colors

recolor of the line and marker layers w/ the bucket tool and clipping layers. the lines are more of a red color while the marker is sort of purple

everything is merged and painted over

main layer and bg are given the ‘watercolor b’ texture on my version of sai and a color overlay at 20%
