Basic Summary: (spoiler free)
Remi is a 24-year-old woman in the year 2005, she was finally recovering from previous trauma and living her best life untill a sudden and tragic car accident that landed her in the hospital. After awaking in the hospital she starts seeing these visions and things of deer and wolves and horned animals and a deer-like entity called Xiamaria appears to her. he tells her she is bound to a soul of limbo and must travel on some sort of 'vauge' mission, and Remi unwillingly goes along with it . The soul tethered to her is that of a man named Ronan, a young adult who had died in the Victorian era. Mission time and twists and turns and basically Remi has to travel to the place of where 4 kingdoms used to be and perform a ritual to enter into Limbo while still alive (a place between life and death where souls reside)
Limbo explantion (spoiler free)
in limbo there are two sides, like two kingdoms. One is Princess Xiamaria, a bride who died on her wedding day. a beloved soul who is like a mother to the souls she 'saves' and brings into limbo. These become her followers and take on deer-like attributes the longer they are under her watch. Her patch of limbo she rules is very small
the other side is Cheif Ubel of the edurne, the groom of Xiamaria, the one that put them both in this place. he rules over the cold waste land of limbo and it is his goal to wipe out everything that is not his people. his followers take on wolf attributes. most of them are fallen soliders from his tribe even if ubel wants people dead there is no "death" in limbo. only prolonged suffering for eternity as souls are stuck inbetween life and death
