Driver who, at first, doesn't really know how to be supportive. It's not like he hasn't heard of what being trans is, he simply doesn't know much past the definition. Relationships in any capacity are few and far in-between for him, and he's sometimes "out of the loop" in terms of social interaction.
And, subsequently, Driver who does what he always does: watches you and takes notes. He'll subtly linger during the day, following you with his eyes as you go about your routine. If there's anything that ever seems to bother you in regards to your gender, he files it away for later with the thought that he'll help you.
Driver who, if you're too scared to do it, bluntly corrects people that misgender you. He understands logically that some people just mess up, but he's protective nonetheless. Add on the fact that he's not above threatening anyone, and you have a gender guard dog (lol). "He's a man." = don't do it again.
Driver who, if you're unsure about your name, helps you pick a new one. You ask him for his opinions and he'll reply honestly, telling you if he thinks they suit you or not. It's a bit of a learning curve at first (he doesn't even feel connected to his own name—what would he know about someone else's name), but he tries as best he can. He has no problem switching between different ones if that's what you need.
Driver who tries to help you with fashion…but fails. This is a man who wears the same fucked up jacket + a pair of skinny jeans and boots. It's not that he doesn't care about how he looks, rather, it's something that's simply out of his immediate worry zone. If you ask him for his opinions, he's just like "You look good." "That's it?" "?????"
Driver who, if you use a binder/tape, will remind you to take breaks. He reassures you that you're a man with or without them.
And Driver who, if you have a hard time getting the binder/tape off, will help you. I can just imagine him sitting patiently as you maneuver yourself, jumping in if you need assistance.
Alternatively, Driver who, if you get top surgery, will look after you. His protectiveness meter is amped up to 100, ready to get you food, empty your drains, fix your bedding, etc. etc. He would be lying if he said he didn't enjoy it a little (a lot).
Driver who, if you want to go to a pride parade, is a little wary. He's all for showing his support, but being around that many people…it worries him. He goes with you anyway, eyes scanning the crowd for any threats + steering you away from any homophobic protestors. (Bonus: you apply sunscreen on each other. I can just imagine him giving a little smile when you rub it onto his face. Add a little pride flag painting on his cheek and he's so :] waiting for you to finish).
Driver who, if you use T + are afraid of needles, does your shots. He'll let you hide your face in his neck while he does it, lightly tilting his chin towards you as if to protect you from the intrusion. After, he'll wipe the area if any blood beads, hiding your eyes if needed.
Alternatively, Driver who, if you use T gel, will linger, waiting until the gel is absorbed to have morning touches (sometimes cuddles, but usually one of you leaning your head on the other's shoulder while you watch TV).
Driver who, if you grow facial hair, is interested in it. He likes to be clean-shaven himself, but I can imagine him tracing his fingers along your jaw, taking in the texture of the coarse hair on his skin. Maybe he even likes it, relishing in the feeling when you kiss.
