I keep remembering a run of Hamlet I saw a few years ago, where the Ghost was costumed in full plate armour which was very noisy, and instead of muffling it, they had him crash across the stage, stomping so the whole set rattled, and he said all of his lines in a bellow, like he was furious with Hamlet.

And the thing that made it absolutely terrifying was that Hamlet was the only one who reacted. He was cowering, and covering his ears with both hands, and yelling to be heard over the noise.

And no one else seemed to know why he was doing that. The other actors didn't even raise their voices.

That's scary, something so loud and painful, and REAL, and the people around you don't even notice it, and think that you're the crazy one.

Last night I was talking to my boyfriend, and I couldn’t think of the word ‘library’, so I said ‘book ranch’. He thought it was hilarious and started making up alternative names for ‘librarian’.

“Cowbook! Like cowboy! No…Readcher? Like Rancher? No, fuck this is hard…”

and just now I heard him yell “BOOKAROO” from the other end of the apartment in the most triumphant tone of voice i’ve ever heard

i did exercise on monday for the first time in a while bc i was feeling like why am i letting my chronic illness get me down and perhaps i should have a regular practice again and it might help me? anyway after 25 mins of the most blah free weights (i only even have 5lb weights) i had triggered a horrible migraine attack. it feels very defeating to not even be able to do 30 bicep curls with light weights lmao like is my body kidding me??? i can't do a few squats???

i think i am getting another polyp as well and this time it really hurts so i've got migraine attack, spotting + cramping, my hands are flaring up, and then my first week back to work is going to hell and it isn't my fault but i'm going to be blamed for it. i feel like garbage and don't want to go in but that will also get me in trouble.

if you are a boss and ever say or insinuate that a sick person "conveniently" missed a day at work, that person will never forget and you should know that you are contributing to the worsening of their illness bc now they can't rest when they need to. because of you. they will come in when they should stay home bc they know you don't believe them.
