but he’s a hero, you know. the strong kind, the hold-up-the-sky kind, the too-good-for-this-world kind. he’s a hero, and he doesn’t deserve this. 

because he is kind, too-good-for-this-world kind, and i think that’s what makes him a hero. his heart is too big, and he carries it in his hands and i think it’s as heavy as the sky anyway and even if atlas was never a hero, he is. 

and he’s a hero, and he doesn’t deserve this, but we all know how this story ends and even if you rip out the last page it doesn’t stop the story from ending. 

he’s a hero, he is, and one day it’s going to kill him. because his heart is too big, and he carries it in his hands, and no one can hold up the sky forever.

when you think aeris / aerith had her first kiss with precious boy zack, as dear as that concept is, with her personality it’s highly unlikely for me. i’m talking right after ifalna’s death on the slum ‘playgrounds’ being the pretty girl when kyrie still wasn’t scared of her, dirt in her nails and scrapes from tilling soil and adventuring like the tomboy nomura has made her in contrast to her best friend and a makeshift metal rod in her hands already learning to fight monsters on her way home with her magic / staff skills. a bit brashand headstrong and knowing already what she likes and doesn’t like and if someone thinks that pretty aeris/aerith gainsborough is going to be an easy kiss even before thirteen by the neighborhood boys she’s going to step and has stepped on their foot. hard.

hi-key emotional about this graphic showing EVERYONE wearing aeris/aerith’s ribbon on some part of them not just as a trend but literally as a mantra that aerith is with them. they’ll never forget how she saved the world by their side and by herself, they’ll never forget how she saved them, they’ll always remember that warm, bright woman who laughed boldly and fiercely and had a good nature and an even tougher swing of her staff. who led with her strength of will / stubbornness and street savvy, they’ll just never forget her, and all she gave them, and how in advent children, she saves them and the world again and it’s like… she’s there but not there.

it hurts a lot looking back because aerith more than anyone deserves to be with the people / world she’s saved and life among them.

but she’s not, because she’s dead.

as far as the og goes. even so, everyone remembers her, gathers around, talks about her, keeps her memories and photos alive. visits the forgotten city / capital. days spent in the church. as life goes on and flowers bloom over sector five’s ruins; they sit and they remember. they live their share of life to the fullest and happiest for her too. because that’s what she wants them to do in her place, not be miserable but move forward and it’s okay to miss her and she’s always there to subtly whisper in the quiet places to show signs that she is /there/.
