Got me into Stepmania, which is the game I played the most this decade

Gave me some different perspectives on anime I watched

Taught me stuff about world geography and world history

Got me into the cars subculture

Just a few months ago, got me into Eurovision

You can easily tell that a song is from 2018 or 2019 just by how the drums sound and the rhythms the drums make.

If you don't mind me asking, how does one actually get into touhou? Like what is a good start point? (Dunno if you have answered this before)

To be honest yeah Touhou isn’t really easy to get into compared to other series because it doesn’t really have a concrete medium since it has bunch of games and mangas. My suggestion is to visit the wiki and try to learn about the characters/games/stories if you don’t feel like playing the games yourself. Most people would recommend playing the games by yourself but the shooting games are pretty hard which is how most first timers are put off by it. However there are also official Touhou fighting games which are much more forgiving compared to the shooting games. There might be better way to get into it out there but I honestly can’t really think of anything better, sorry.

In 2010, I easily got into Touhou since it greatly appealed to me. I mean, what other series is known for having cute little anime girls wearing frilly and modest dresses (some with nice hats), awesome music, a fandom known for creating tons of fan art and remixes, and characters with well-defined personalities?

The characters that introduced me to Touhou are Cirno and Flandre Scarlet through the videos “Cirno’s Perfect Math Class” and “SCARLET ZONE”. And then I thought it would be cool if Touhou Techno music and Touhou Rock music existed, and there is a ton of it! 

Simply put, Touhou has a lot to offer! It’s not just the official games that make Touhou popular: The characters, the music, the fan animations, the memes, the fandom, and even the fan games are what make Touhou what it is.
