Silver Penny was the original CHRISTOPHER HANLON™ perfume created in 1994 and carefully refined after two decades of backyard aromatic experiments. This classic Australian combination of floral notes is perfectly balanced with tropical Queensland citrus top notes but lavishly enriched with Western Australian Sandalwood Absolute. Bitter Orange Bergamot is juxtaposed and spliced with chards of Saffron, Neroli, Geelong Lemon and tangy Manuka, before Christopher Hanlon’s™ signature fermenting. The perfume has been skillfully blended with natural green notes of Violet and Patchouli. Finally the dry down lingers: a sophisticated fragrant concoction with a hint of Queensland Ginger.
His-Story: developed for personal use by Christopher Hanlon™, then sold to men particularly in the CBD, Surry Hills, Kings Cross, Darlinghurst and Paddington (Sydney) in the '90s. The worldwide consumer-frenzy this perfume has caused is now quite literally, legendary. Today this natural aromatic scent is one of our most popular amongst fashionable jet-set girls. Christopher Hanlon® Perfume is formulated using a unique process called Méthode Électromagnétique Fermentation®. What does this mean? As such Christopher’s perfumes cannot be compared to conventional perfumes because notes have been fused displacing various accords and discords. More importantly Méthode Électromagnétique Fermentation® means that a Christopher Hanlon® Perfume is up to 500% more intense, concentrated and longer lasting than even the most prestigious conventional perfume. Artist Christopher Hanlon® invented a new perfume genre, neither based on traditional top, middle and base notes; nor using regular perfume manufacturing techniques. Christopher adds: ‘I would estimate that 95% of perfumes today are retro in so far as they formulate using the classic 3 tiered hierachy of top, middle and base’. Hanlon’s® revolutionary process allows key base notes to be cancelled as softer notes are ironically amplified, intensely. Add to the equation botanical notes like Australian Bush Potato that have hitherto not been used in perfumery. This bizarre blending culminates in signature aromas that are more wholistic, pure and unique. Christopher Hanlon® invented the process in 1994 using crackpot methods at Paddington Markets which today have been scientifically perfected. Some call it the devotee's raison d'être. His-Storical Note: Based out of Sydney and Geelong today, each fragrance is still weighed, mixed, fermented, macerated and hand filtered to carefully remove remnants of the botanicals by Christopher’s own hand.
