Ive been listening to this song over and over again. While I have moved on from the past (somewhat) I still cant let go of the past despite how painful it was for me. Made by my sister's friend, she sang this beautifully. Giving my own version of the lyrics since she haven't posted it online LOL

This song is so beautifully written. The juxtaposition of the characters involved, 2 people who's in love and 1 person who's tired of holding on to something uncertain. The couple being active and united. The observer still, silent and isolated. If you haven't make it out already, I love analyzing songs LOL I've analyzed a lot of songs before and more recently its been this as well as Charlie's Inferno BECAUSE THE SONG'S CONTENT IS ACTUALLY FIRE IM NOT TALKING ABOUT THAT FuCKING HOMELANDER ANIMATION MEME anyways, this song moved me in ways I haven't been moved for in a long time. The last time I was moved like this was when I listened to smiling anyway by ABANGSAPAU, (great song by the way). Mari Bersulang by Ilmare vividly shows the painful juxtaposition and contrast between emotions of the characters. "Dua jiwa yang benar santun", "Sejiwa yang lelah bertahan" - "Dua jiwa yang menari menari bersama", "Sejiwa diam sampai asa". And yet despite this, the observer still celebrates what is generally a great thing. Losing, naturally, causes a person to grieve and feel bitter. Instead, the narrator (singer heh) juxtaposes their own feelings with an act of selflessness- forcing themselves to celebrate the momentous occasion, for the people who involuntarily hurted them.
Mari Bersulang is the perfect way to end the song. The way she sings with her emotions, showing grief and defeat but yet still bringing people to toast for the couple, a complete and brilliant piece of irony. Showing a brave face, glass in hand, ready for a toast while watching someone they cherish with someone else and them being completely alone.
