Everything was fine before races became so absorbed in power Whites became supreme but #BlackLivesMatter After slavery went we thought freedom at last But following that segregation they did grant Jim Crow laws where they thought race was a way to define But who we truly are that never could assign Our roles towards our way of living. If I lived in that era could I call my home mine? Or would it be owned by people who owned me? Slavery was gone but was I well and truly free Fast forward to a while ago Where racism existed but violence was rarely shown But now what has it come to Shooting up churches and unjust attacks too? It will come to a point where I’ll fear to go outside A police officer there, I step back get shot five times? Yes, the high authorities are now part of this. Because a white extremist shoots up nine innocent people in a place of worship. In a police car of authority they drive him to Burger King? A place that is filled with delight a reward or something? Your not even police anymore, your merely as bad as him. Rewarding him is as bad as the original sin. Then you get Sandra Bland a story which should put the police force to shame. An unlawful arrest but not even the respect to explain. The truth behind her mugshot and why was that way? You think the pubic are stupid? We figured it out ourselves. As to why the background was the same shade the floor to her jail cell. All lives matter not just black lives but I fear the next generation of black lives will be truly deprived of the means to go outside and not fear that they will become the victim of the next racial crime and live scared locked inside not keeping God on their side. We ALL need to learn that love will ALWAYS be greater than power. & to end this poem with the main theme that #BlackLivesMatter
