Seeing KaKura, Soul ran with a goofy smile on his face. Mid run, he tripped and fell. Hard. Groaning in pain, Soul looked up and stared at her in confusion. "Iâm sorry, who are you again?" ((cackles evily.)
She tapped his chest with her foot, rolling her eyes. âCâmon, Soul. Get up, stop messing around.â
She practically growled at him, after the fifth poke or so, and abruptly sat up in her seat, turning to face him. âUgh, okay, fine. Just- donât freak out, got it?â She pointed at him, not even waiting for a reaction. âOkay. We live in Death City. You and I are students at the DWMA, the Death Weapon Meister Academy. W-â KaKura was interrupted by a nurse walking into the eating room. âSoul?â He called, looking around the room for movement. The meister stood, and walked over to the nurse, the other in tow. âIâll tell you later.â She whispered to him as they were pulled back into triage.
Death City? Death City?! Who names a place death? WaitâŠdid this mean..he was dead? Was this some sort of twisted heaven limbo type deal? Looking around with wide eyes, he started to think everyone around him was a ghost. He was deadâŠthat was it. He fell and split his skull open or something. Following the nurse, he didnât want to know what awaited him. Escape. He needed an escape plan and fast.Â
The nurse lead the two back, sitting Soul in the big chair and doing routine things, taking his blood pressure, temperature, drawing blood for testing, etc. KaKura noticed that the white haired boy looked rather nervous in the chair and she bit her lip, knowing he was probably freaking out about what she just told him. The nurse walked away to go consult with a doctor or something, so the girl turned to face the other again. "Okay, so, DWMA. Well.. The students there are kind of special. We work in the partner system, one is theweapon, the other is the meister. Basically...." She sighed. "The 'weapons' can literally turn into weapons to kill these demon things... called kishin." The meister paused, biting her lip and letting the other take everything in. "Listen, I swear I'm not crazy, you can ask the doctor or the nurse or anyone, just- I'm not lying."
KaKura scowled at him for that name, standing up and brushing a palm against her cheek, cringing when her skin met a gooey substance. âUgh, whatever you say, dweeb. Iâm gonna go take a shower, have fun cleaning up.â She practically ran into the bathroom down the hall and...
KaKura mumbled under her breath during the entire shower, cursing Soul's existence for getting flower into practically every fucking strand of her hair. Her curls were extremely high maintenance, god damn it.
She felt kind of bad for leaving Soul to do all the cleaning, after she finally stepped out of the shower some time later, but he started it, so he deserved to clean. Grabbing the red towel from the rack, she wrapped it around herself and opened the door, padding down the hall until she was able to peek her head around the corner leading to the kitchen. "Hey, you want some help?" She asked the white haired boy brushing her hair back with the fingers on her free hand.
She raised an eyebrow, laughing. âI think you already got me, /schnookums/.â She winced at how annoying the pet name sounded, but he started it.
"Oh. Oh no I didnât. Not yet anyway. Sleep with one eye open cupcake.â Soul wasnât through with her, not in the least bit. He still had things up his sleeves.Â
KaKura scowled at him for that name, standing up and brushing a palm against her cheek, cringing when her skin met a gooey substance. "Ugh, whatever you say, dweeb. I'm gonna go take a shower, have fun cleaning up." She practically ran into the bathroom down the hall and closed the door so she wasn't roped into doing any cleaning. Stripping as quickly as possible, she threw the soiled clothes into the corner and turned on the water, waiting until it was steaming before stepping in.
"Not gonna tell youâŠ." She sighed, not looking up. If she told him, he would freak out, and run away, probably thinking that she was just fucking with him or something. The girl stood, finished with the papers, and handed them to the person behind the desk before flopping back into the chair next to Soul, rubbing her face and groaning. Why is it always them?
Soul wanted answers, and he wasnât going to give up that easily. âTell me.â As she rubbed her face, he poked the side of her head. âTell me.â Poke. âTell me.â Poke. âTell me.â Harder poke than before. He kept doing that over, and over, and over again. If she wasnât going to crack, heâd just have to change his methods a little bit.Â
She practically growled at him, after the fifth poke or so, and abruptly sat up in her seat, turning to face him. "Ugh, okay, fine. Just- don't freak out, got it?" Her nose wrinkled like she was smelling something terrible. Butter in the ear was really gross. She pushed herself up, leaning back on her elbows and stared up at Soul, trying not to laugh at how ridiculous he looked. âNice hair, babe.â
His hands automatically flew up to his hair to smooth and shake out whatever was in it. âNow I gotta wash it..blowdry itâŠre-style itâŠlook what you did.â He playfully rolled his eyes. âNow Iâm gonna have to get you back, honey.â
She raised an eyebrow, laughing. "I think you already got me, /schnookums/." She winced at how annoying the pet name sounded, but he started it.

She tapped his chest with her foot, rolling her eyes. âCâmon, Soul. Get up, stop messing around.â
Side-glancing his way, KaKura smirked. âYou donât want to know.â She answered, laughing at the situation beside herself. She scribbled in the easy stuff, like his birth date, blood type, age, allergies. âTheyâll give you some soon, stop messing with it and youâll be fine.â The girl blindly swatted at the others prodding hand, knowing that his fidgeting was only making his head worse.
"So youâre not gonna tell me?" Was he some world champion eater or what? Did he go on game shows and compete for the grand hot dog prize? "Am I the worldâs greatest hot dog eater? Thatâd beâŠkinda gross if I was. Eating all those hot dogs in one sitting. Thatâs disgustingâŠ"
"Not gonna tell you...." She sighed, not looking up. If she told him, he would freak out, and run away, probably thinking that she was just fucking with him or something. The girl stood, finished with the papers, and handed them to the person behind the desk before flopping back into the chair next to Soul, rubbing her face and groaning. Why is it always them?
"Oh, my god you did NOT just do that!" She tried to fight it when Soul flipped them over, but he was stronger than her, and ended up sitting on her legs. She squirmed under him when he reached for the butter and practically screamed when it was shoved somewhere butter should...

Her eyes flicked to his chest and a scowl set on her features. âToo many.â Was her only answer, ignoring his ramblings. She opened the door for the both of them and lead the other to the desk at the front of the room. âHi,â she greeted the man sitting in front of the computers, âmy friend here fell about 20 minutes ago and canât remember a thing.â The computer-man nodded, fingers reaching over to blindly grab a packet of papers on a clip board. He handed them over to KaKura. âFill these out and bring them back when youâre done, he should be seen momentarily.â The meister nodded, picking up a pen from the desk and moving to sit in one of the available chairs, writing down âSoul âEaterâ Evansâ in her big, loopy cursive at the top of the first sheet.
Looking over her shoulder while she wrote, he snorted. âSoul âEaterâ Evans. My name is lame. Why would I put âEaterâ in there?â Shaking his head in disbelief, he looked at her puzzled. She would know everything about him, so he figured she would know this. His head still ached a little, and he put his hand gingerly to where it hurt. âYou got any aspirin?â
Side-glancing his way, KaKura smirked. "You don't want to know." She answered, laughing at the situation beside herself. The jam was cold and the girl couldnât repress a shudder that moved through her. With fast reflexes, she snatched two eggs from the counter, one in each hand, and ran at the other, tackling him to the floor. She grinned down at him as she broke one egg into his hair, and,...

The girl pushed at the others chest, but eventually just slapped her palms against it. "Oh, my God, okay. Uncle, uncle! Stop!" She cried.
She was so lucky that her eyes were closed, because the flour went everywhere. KaKura felt it go onto her face and fall down into her shirt. Her lips fell open in shock and she furiously wiped at the area around her eyes before opening them. âOh, my God⊠You are SO dead.â...

"Câmon, we have to get you at least checked out. Iâve almost lost you because of a bunch of shit, and Iâm not gonna loose you because you got a concussion, fell asleep, and didnât wake up, okay?" She pulled again on his wrist, making him walk toward the emergency room entrance. "Besides, itâs a totally uncool way to die." She teased, but frowned, remembering that the other probably wouldnât realize that she was teasing him.
"Dang..how many near-death experiences have I had?" He seemed almost proud of himself for almost dying multiple times. "And there are cool ways to die? I mean..I guess I wouldnât wanna go out by a concussion. A cool way to die would be to get eaten by a dinosaur thatâs time traveled. Other than that, not really."
Her eyes flicked to his chest and a scowl set on her features. "Too many." Was her only answer, ignoring his ramblings.
